The consequences of Conor/Dustin 3

- Dustin will have leverage over the UFC for beating the golden boy twice, favoring him during the future negotiations
Disagree there. Dustin has gotten popular since beating Conor but he's not at star/superstar levels the way Nate or khabib is. I said it before the fight if Conor loses, the attention will be focused on Conor losing, not Dustin winning.

That's exactly what happened. Dustin got 15mins of Fame.

If he had beaten Conor at the height of his career, after Conor beat Eddie, he'd be a bigger star than he is now

Same will go in the rubber match. If Dustin wins, the focus will be Conor's washed, not that Dustin is good. It's not fair but that's how it'll be

They can't let Dustin win again. They really can't. Like paying Dustin whatever he needs is massively cheaper than ending Conor's ufc career. It can not be left to chance.
Are you saying they will pay Dustin enough to fix the fight?
I don’t think DP will do that, even for 10 million

I suspect the main reason is the same as the first rematch. If Conor wins then he gains #1 contender status and a title fight. But Poirier is the better fighter and he's going to crush what's left of Conor's hype.

Sadly that's true, I think the idea stems from the first fight and that people believe Conor from back then would beat any version of Dustin. I don't really see that, I just think Dustin is more experienced, learned a lot more through his many wars and frequently fighting elite competition made him a veteran.
I think Conor had potential to show how "good" he is at 155, but we've never seen anything like that besides the Eddie fight(which was an undeserved title shot imo).
Many people believed Conor was the second best 155 fighter behind Khabib. I was always confused by this theory since he had only 2 fights in the divison before UFC 257.
I think Conor is still good, but so far he's only proved how elite he is 145.

Where does Charles O sit on your ladder? (Not dissing, just asking)
Below both Gaethje and Poirier, that's for sure. Oliveira seems to be content with just waiting for now and observing the situation. One thing for sure is that he's not going to get a title shot sitting on his ass when these 4 aforementioned names are duking it out for the belt.

"If Connor wins just be prepared to have the belt defended every 2 years boys.

so fucking stupid.

Olivera - 8 fight win streak
Conman - 1-2 in his last 3 with that win coming against Cowboy and him getting dominated in the two losses."
Conor was winning hislast fight not getting dominated
Yes, Conor won the first round and while he was doing that Dustin was banking in those calf kicks and cashed them in during round 2.
Both these men know they finish each other, I think the odds are gonna be very even when the trilogy is officially booked.

Dustin felt Conor at 155, I think he finishes him in the first this time. Conrad is a weak 155er

Oh just shut the fuck up you retard. I haven’t watched this embarrassing shit in years so I’m not ungrateful. I don’t give a fuck if he’s throwing the division in the toilet to feed the poor. I wouldn’t tune into a super bowl between the bengals and browns just because they’re raising money to purchase books for obviously underserved people like you, I tune in because I want to watch the best fight the best. Is Dustin a good guy? Of course. But he could very easily raise money without wasting every legit contender’s time fighting someone who’s had all of one, maybe two successful fights at LW (and really within the last five years).

Just shut the fuck up with your feeding the children shit dummy, I watch sports for competition.
You wouldn't talk like this in person. Get a grip pussy

Well imo it should be the UFC's job to maintain integrity in the sport. Also I'm pretty sure Dustin's reasoning is that the lightweight belt will always be there to gain, it's going nowhere since he's convinced he will beat Conor again. Why not fight Conor one last time to complete the trilogy and make tons of money before Conor becomes irrelevant?
That’s totally fair, and I tend to agree in part, now that you mention it. My problem is that Conor McGregor was never ever relevant outside of the featherweight division. I mean, a person couldn’t possibly make a reasonable argument that a win over Conor outside of featherweight means anything.
You’re right though, the belt will always be there, but I don’t think the division should be railroaded by its top contenders for a cash grab. It’s schemes like this that waste the primes of contenders like Ferguson and very possibly Oliveira. The toughest division in the sport deserves contenders who want to prove they’re the best, and I swear on my life if you stayed loyal to the merit model, Poirer would make his money anyway. But I absolutely see where you’re coming from, and as much as it makes me disappointed in Poirer- a fighter and person I really like, I see why he’d go that way too.

Don’t forget you’re the one who came out of the gates with the insults and stupid arguments big guy. I didn’t say shit to you. Since charity is involved we should just totally forget that this is supposed to be an actual sport? It’s entirely possible to raise money and maintain legitimate competition. You’ll have to forgive me if I don’t just let your flippant arguments and insults slide.

Goddamn I had forgotten how ridiculous that stupid man-bun/cornrows combo on top of Conrat's head looked in their first fight. He would have deserved to get starched for that alone.

I can’t blame Dustin for wanting this fight again. It’s the biggest payday he can get and while it’s not exactly “low risk”...it’s still a very winnable fight for him. The aura surrounding Conor is gone now. People are no longer intimidated by him and that goes double for Dustin.

Bottom line is....If I’m Dustin I’m begging for this fight to be made.

Dana is at fault for holding up the LW division in hopes of Khabib making a return. It is not Dustin's fault. Poirier, McGregor, Oliveira, Chandler, Hooker, RDA...none of them have actual fights booked. The only really meaningful LW that has a fight booked (and now to some is considered past prime over the hill) is Tony Ferguson vs. Baneil Dariush.
