People are missing the legal issue because of the scandal. This is one where the cover-up is worse than the affair. Not all cover-ups are crimes, of course, but this particular one maps onto a campaign finance violation.


That aside, the idea that people shouldn't bother discussing something unless it's worthy of removal from office is, frankly, stupid. Impeachment or bust isn't the standard for newsworthiness, and the people pretending that it is are being dishonest.

I dont think that Trump should be removed simply because he had an affair 8 years ago. But it's still a newsworthy event, made more newsworthy by the fact that he lied about it- and the president blatantly lying about something is definitely worth some discussion and reporting.

You started by asking how many politicians have had affairs. Lots, I'm sure. And when those are uncovered, they are and should be reported on. That's what happened here. If Trump is impeached, it won't be because he fucked a pornstar or three while his wife was with his newborn. That's not a basis to ignore it, though.

I'll be right there with you if it is "proven" that he is stealing money, but the "crucify him for lying about sluts he paid with his own money" is the weakest of arguments. Give me what was promised when we heard these recordings would be revealed, not this trash.

This doesn't make sense to me. It's proof that he lied about an affair and paying off the person he had the affair with. There is a question about whether the shell company that attempted (not sure if successfully?) to buy the rights to her story broke the law, and it's unclear. That's the that of it. You're kind of all over the place.
