The Chris....

the scariest thing with him right now is how slow he looks, combined with the lack of head movement. he's gonna be an absolute punching bag against the faster guys at MW.

looks like an entirely different fighter from a couple of years ago.

He's still trying... But he gets absolutely starched by anyone who can throw hands for more than a round. Akhmedov has one of the worst gas tanks in mma. I imagine him against a gatekeeper like Till and I shudder.
Till is a gatekeeper? I’d say he’s a contender with a lot of potential still. Weidman is a gatekeeper.

Glad he won, but I think he's on borrowed time. Not getting any younger, plus permanent damage from surgeries and finishes isn't getting any less severe. He could maybe beat some other guys in the top 15 but if he gets anywhere close to top 5, I see him getting sniped - and I don't wanna see that again.

I stopped caring about Whineman after he tried to cheat Moose. Let him fight Romero and get wrecked into retirement.

His striking was never elite, but it was good enough to set up the takedown. He just looks slow and timid on the feet. But, this fight did show just how elite his grappling and submissions still are. I don’t think he’s getting proper credit because people don’t appreciate how good of a grappler Akhmedov is. It was a decent win, and I say this as someone who roots for The Chris, any fight in the top 10 is probably a bad night for him. Maybe he looks great his next fight, but I’m skeptical at this point.

Everyone gets old and time is the absolute killer. Is Normal..

i hope he retires on a win. he should save his brain from future cte. he has a wonderful wife and kids

He looked slow, his striking was sloppy and he just plots forward. I always knew he was overrated. His title reign was comprised of fighting over the hill fighters that started MMA since the late 90s-early 00s. When he started fighting guys in their prime he gets whooped. Let’s see how Weidman fares when he’s approaching 40.

No. He beat a good version of machida in a title fight. He beat him in a 5 rd striking war, in a stand-Up fight

Let's give him sir Bob of knuckles next. Its the kind thing to do for teh Chris

Chris ate alot of body shots and that caused him to gas hard. Chris has never defended body shots well at all.

Trapped somewhere between watching Chris come out getting starched being satisfying, and hoping he retires before he gets stiffened worse. Weird place to be

The Rockhold fight should have been stopped sooner. One of the more vicious and prolonged beat downs I've seen. That kind of shite can change a man.

and maybe usada too
I agree, beatings like that leave a mark. I never cared for the Chris but he did have some bad luck. rockhold fight was very winnable and he wasn't doing too badly against romero until he got murked.

Remember the Weidman that fought Machida - that guy was invincible.
You mean the same guy that Rockhold and Romero beat? "Invincible" isn't exactly the word I'd go with. Machida simply didn't have an answer for Weidman's combination of size, pressure, wrestling, and strength. Weidman also mixes it up in the standup.
