This. My GF is a working actress and all the CDs are women or gay men. You're almost never alone in the room and it's filmed. Not saying girls don't cozy up to producers trying to get a break but if they don't have the chops, they're not going anywhere. Hollywood is more about nepotism than anything else. If you have powerful or famous family members, you will get breaks before more talented, more attractive people.

there is a ridiculous amount of nepotism in Hollywood. every time I wikipedia some celebrity in Hollywood I find out their relatives were powerful actors,directors,producers etc in the past. like troain bellisario and the deschanel sisters.
