The Casting couch?

Well maybe it's something akin to writer's block.
Michael Crichton used to go days sometimes unable to write anything for his novels. Lot of them have this issue.

Film makers run out of ideas.

Musicians need inspiration similarly. Maybe it was some cathartic event that brought him out of his slump or some woman, etc.

Well those are more plausible than tha devil.

You didn't watch the video. The dude was not a musician, he couldn't play a lick. Its a known story you can find in a variety of places. He went from can't even play a guitar to greatest blues musician of all time in like 6 months. Its one of the oldest stories of selling your soul to the devil for fame.

When I saw the thread title I thought of this.

A good number of you should get the reference.

He's absolutely talking about satan. The argument against it is that people say well, there is no satan, its just artists selling records. Its just a matter if you believe what they say or not. You should find some old interviews with Black Sabbath talking about how they formed the band and how when they would get together to make music it would just all come out in one take like it was evily influenced. As far as left eye goes, yea I've seen a couple docs about the last days of her life. She thought evil spirits were after her.

Yeah but,

1.these people get high a lot. They're prone to hallucinations, active imaginations.
2.many of them ARE EVIL. perverse, despicable. It's easy to call any one of them a devil in that sense.
3.it could be hype, especially with the goth and heavy metal bands who have that romanticism with devil worshiping, etc.

That's a flaw in the video, it's repeating a lie that's been repeatedly addressed in just about all scholarship on that period in music.

It's similar to the Dylan example, it's mythmaking. Dylan lied up and down about his background to sell his story early in his career, talking about being a rail riding orphan and shit. It's all part of the tradition, the character, Johnson's is just a famou example because he went and got himself killed, and there are se crazy eyed pictures of him.

I'm not arguing the existence of Satan. I'm merely pointing out that Hollywood and the music industry are packed with personal stories of sexual abuse, satanic worship, and mind control.

As far as goth and heavy metal romanticizing devil worshiping. Its pretty much all music going back decades, rap, hip hop, classic rock and roll, etc. Here is a neat one for you. Jimmy Page of Led Zepplin was obsessed with Aleister Crowley and bought his house. He would hold seances there to try to contact Crowley. The other members of the band say he was obsessed with black magic and Satan.

Hollywood/Music industries are replete with story after story. Is it mythmaking when Feldman straight out says Hollywood is full of :eek::eek::eek:philes? The industries have evil at their root and on multiple levels.

I don't think that really stands. There are/were :eek::eek::eek:philes in positions powerful roles in the entertainment industries. Cool, but that really doesn't implicate anyone else for anything else in and of itself.

Its a long time network of debauchery. Here is Sammy Davis Jr. with his good friend, the founder of the church of Satan, Anton Lavey.

You can choose to believe that these celebrities are not into some dark shit but I think you would be wrong. Here is Jay Z with his Do what thou Wilt shirt. He took that straight from Aleister Crowley whose mantra was, Do What Thou Wilt shall be the whole of the law. Crowley being the most famous Satanist of all time.

Checkmate, atheists?

The problem with believing the devil exists is then god exists.

And that's reaaly scary.

Checkmate, atheists?

Doesn't matter if there is a Satan or not. There is ample evidence that many entertainers in film and music believe that there is and they engage in dark practices.

Looks cherry picked, tells you as much about the network of debauchery in the entertainment industry as cross tattoos on rappers and bono meeting the pope tells you about pervasive catholic values in the entertainment industry.

I'm not sure how much evidence you need. They sing about Satan, they read satanic books, they get satanic tats, and many who have been in the two industries, film and music, tell stories of Satan and sexual abuse.

Its just a nasty nasty culture. It doesn't matter if you believe in Satan or not and it sticks its head up over and over again. What did John Lennon say about the Beatles?

I for sure believe shit like that goes on or has went on in hollywood, maybe that's just the consiparcy therorist in me speaking. Think it was Cusack who said that hollywood is like one massive prostitution ring for young actresses obviously he was probably overreacting massively but still.

I agree with everything muster is saying. There's just way too many people and stories of effed up shite going on in Hollywood. And even if you think what's going on in Hollywood is just business as usual. If you're a Sammy Davis jr why would you be hugged up with friggin Anton levy I mean really I wouldn't what that sick fuck looking at me no less hugging that evil fucker. Just saying I don't buy that Dylan was high during that interview I don't think it's a coincidence that Katy perry had a big ass snake in her video just too much anacedotal evidence and first hand stories. if a guys is telling you I got successfully from selling my soul to satan and he's not smirking or laughing then why would you not believe it strange love? You still have an awesome av SL

There were some fucked up threads in the Misc about this a while back, about the Disney girls in particular.

Not sure if true but it makes for some chilling creepypasta.

Ye I remember that. Some poster who was supposedly a Hollywood insider of sorts. Lots of stuff about Hayden Panettiere. I don't remember the specifics as it was a while ago and I'm pretty sure I was on prescription sleeping pills while reading it, but I remember thinking that it seemed legit.

They stick Crowley into everything. The Iron Maiden "mascot" is named Eddie. Aleister Crowley's birth name was Edward Alexander Crowley. He seeps into all sorts of films and music.

And is isn't limited to heavy metal bands. Here is what Belinda Carlisle of the GoGo's said about her early life and Satanism. You remember sweet little Belinda right?

When I was twelve years old, I was a mixed-up, restless little girl living in Thousand Oaks, a working-class area in Los Angeles's West San Fernando Valley. My stepdad had a drinking problem, my mom was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, and I was teased as being fat and stupid. I was neither, but at that age, the facts didn't matter. I hated my life and wanted something better.

I came home one day from a friend's house holding a book that seemed like it might help me change my life. I hid it under my sweatshirt and went straight to my bedroom. I felt a tingle of excitement as I slipped it out and looked at the cover: "The Satanic Bible" by Anton LaVey. I read bits and pieces, and although I understood very little of the author's rant against Christianity, I focused on terms like "exorcism," "evil," and "black magic," thinking I could find out how to cast spells and take control of my life.

I'm no Aleister Crowley expert but I remember reading that he wasn't a Satanist. More of a Nietzschean hedonist, which would seem to explain his appeal to the entertainment industry
