She still looks pretty good for 45.

Jennifer Shue, on the other hand.... throughout the series I was thinking "They're asking the audience to believe she just had a kid? She looks 55."

And I looked it up, and yep, she's 55.

Oh, and one more unrelated spoiler...

The absolute best unexpected moment was Haley Joel Osmond.

I thought he was just there for a cameo, an inside joke for those who would recognize him. And it was even more awesome I realized he was actually going to be a character.

He's still a pretty good actor for not doing any acting as an adult, and not acting for 15+ years.

Whether you like the Entourage movie or not (and I think it gets a lot of misdirected hate)

Haley Joel Osmond played a pretty solid role as an unlikeable Trust Fund kid.

I enjoyed it.

I've said on this forum many times that I actually enjoyed the Will Smith super hero movie and the Uma Thurman 'My Super Ex Girlfriend, quite a bit conceptually, for the flawed hero take, but would have loved to have seen them take more of a dark turn then comedic. Really show us flawed hero's dealing with depression and other issues while also dealing with a gov't that wants to own and control them and will demonize and criminalize them to do so. Chronicle was the first 'Hero' movie I think I saw that really took that full dark turn.

I am very excited to see where season 2 goes. I have no knowledge with the comics so this is all green-fields for me.

Homelander is so far and away the best character and betrayal on the shower

I just finished ep4 this morning, LMAO @ that final scene w/ the dolphin, holy shit that was funny. This show is legit good.

Knowing what I know about the comics, they are going to have quite a predicament when it’s time to reveal Black Noir’s identity. Probably more plot changes coming down the pike.
Some of names have to be jokes, right? Noir means black in French, so his name is black black? And the whole translucent doesn't mean invisible thing was hilarious.

I love the show and the casting, especially in the case of Starr, has so far been MCU-level good. I do not like the idea of a female Stormfront, though. Hitler with tits just doesn't work

Also, in the comics, even dosed with a very rare and pure form of Compound V, the Boys couldn't stand and bang with the real heavyweights like Homelander, Black Noir or Stormfront. The point of taking Compound V was to allow the Boys to handle low-level Supes like Teenage Kix, G-Whizz etc. Billy was perfectly aware he couldn't take the Homelander in a straight fight. But he didn't really care because he wanted to die anyway. Just as long as he could take Homelander with him.

In one of the scenes in the comic, he plays a Hot or Cold? guessing game while asking Butcher questions, using his super-senses to read Butcher's heart rate etc. He works out that at some point he must have killed Butcher's wife.

Billy, "Know what? While you've been listening to my heartrate and sniffing my sweat and watching every one of my responses, banging on and fucking on like the clever bastard you think you are...you know what old Terror's been doing while you were wanking off to the sound of your own voice?"

(Homelander looks down to find that Terror has pissed on his boots)

Homelander(eyes glow red)"Fucking little! - "

Billy, "Ah-ah! You touch one hair on his head and it starts right now. Right this second. No fucking about. Right now. Hot or Cold?"

Homelander. "Over a dog?!"

Billy, "Over my dog".

Homelander, "You're insane. But I can read your heartbeat. I can smell your sweat. And I can tell you that you're completely - "

Billy(walking away)"Fuck off, cunt"

Just finished episode 5 last night.

My wife started watching it with me. Usually she doesn't go for this kind of stuff. She'll watch the occasional Marvel movie with me, but that's about it. She absolutely loves this show. I was ready for bed last night, and she 'forced' me to watch another episode lol.

Loving it so far, and I just want to binge watch the last 3 episodes.

that series of panels was the best writing of the entire series. You never questioned why Butcher did anything ever again in that series.

I think a female neo nazi could work. Could give a message about how dangerously seductive those thoughts can be.

Binge watched the last 3 episodes last night. Fucking awesome.

Sad that I have to wait another year though to see what happens next.

I wasn't that into the comic, but the show is pretty good.

THE BOYS Coming to Cinemax With Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Eric Kripke

After bringing Garth Ennis’ Preacher to the screen with the upcoming AMC series, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Neal Moritz are tackling another dark and violent comic book by Ennis on cable television. Cinemax has put in development The Boys, from the Preacher team of Rogen and Goldberg’s Point Grey, Moritz’s Original Film and Sony TV.

Developed by Rogen, Goldberg and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, and to be written by Kripke based on the graphic novel written by Ennis and illustrated by Darick Robertson, the series is set in a time where most of the superheroes are corrupted by their celebrity status and often engage in reckless behavior, compromising the safety of the world. It centers on a CIA squad, known informally as “the boys,” whose job is to keep watch on the proliferation of superheroes and, if necessary, eliminate some of them. Rogen and Goldberg, who helmed the Preacher pilot, are set to direct.

Like with Preacher, which had gone though numerous TV and feature incarnations over 16 years until it was finally made by AMC, The Boys also has had a long development history. Over the past eight years, it had been in the works as a movie at Columbia Pictures and Paramount. The Boys ran for 72 issues from 2008-2012, published initially by Wildstorm (#1-6) and then by Dynamite Entertainment.

‘The Boys’ Drama Based On Comic Book Set At Cinemax With Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Eric Kripke, Original Film & Sony

I'm not reading through the thread for fear of spoilers but just watched the first two episodes last night. Definitely like it so far. I knew very little going in. Looking forward to episodes 3 & 4 tonight.
