Just finished episode 5. It's not good, but it's not bad. Just watching it out of complete boredom. But one thing I absolutely hate is the terrible action sequences, especially the one on one hand to hand combats. The fight scenes are worse than Batman Begins.

I thought the ending was superb, fookin diabolical mates. Can honesty see several different, but equally interesting paths they could take with it. Will watch.

Im actually wondering if Becca was raped at all now, maybe she did just fuck homelander and got preggers. Also, I think maybe homelander saved Butcher cause in the end the company fucked them both and maybe he feels a kinship with him in that. Or, more likely he figured hes a good faith way into making an amicable deal with Becca to raise the kid without having to kidnap him or kill her which would sour the the father/son relationship.

I actually liked that change. In the comic the 7 confront The Boys and the Homelander asks Butcher why he hates him so much. All Butcher does is smile as the panels shift between the Homelander putting random scenarios and Butcher finding out she was raped, the pregnancy and eventually beating the baby to death with a table leg as it rips its way out his wife.

This gives them a lot a of narrative leeway to play with which is awesome.

I just finished. I thought it was really good.

I only have two more episodes to watch. I'll be sorry to finish the series.

One of the best tv shows in years, definitely a big recommend.

Hand to hand combat? I don't remember that.

Black Noir vs The Female?

That's about the only one I could think of and that was in the dark with a bunch of crazy camera cuts so it was hard to tell what was going on. I wouldn't call that terrible action like that dude said. Would you?

Agreed. I actually posted on here after watching it that the only real problem I had was it that it was so dark I couldn't really tell what was happening. Reminded me of the fight scene at the beginning of Black Panther, where he takes down the slave traders in the jungle.

My wife & I just finished the season finale & we loved it. And, Jana's not really that interested in the superhero genre at all & it kept her rapt attention throughout.
It was, of course, a very dark show but not so much that it was an unpleasant experience to watch it. Oh, there were some very unpleasant moments but they were necessary to the story & were very well done. Such as the Homelander & Queen Maeve's futile attempt to save the plane full of people. That was as good of a piece of dramatic television as I've ever seen.
Ass a fan of the show BANSHEE, I was very familiar with Antoney Starr & I was happy to see him land a major role in something that I actually wanted to see. I thought he did an excellent job as the character of Lucas Hood in BANSHEE & he was definitely a notch above the acting that one usually sees in action fare like the Cinemax show. But, as much as I enjoyed his work in that show, I had no idea that he had the sort of acting chops that he displayed as the Homelander in THE BOYS. Wow.
As good as Karl Urban is, I don't think that many will argue that Starr stole the show. If he's not nominated for an Emmy for this then something's wrong.

Agreed with you on Starr, but I doubt he's getting an Emmy nomination. Deborah Ann Woll and Vincent D'Onferio's scene in Daredevil season 3 was some of the best acting I've seen in any TV series. A masterclass in relentlessly increasing tension. When I first watched it, I genuinely thought Karen Page wasn't getting out alive. I was waiting for Fisk to snap her like a twig.

But Woll and D'Onferio weren't even nominated for Emmys. There is still a bias against comic book shows.

Fantastic series. Reminds me of Watchmen and Doom Patrol.

This shit is so good. How the hell are they getting me to feel sorry for a guys who's first screen time is him raping someone.
The Deep? He didn't rape Starlight. He blackmailed her into giving him a blow-job by threatening to get her kicked off the team.

He's a piece of shit, of course, but not a rapist. And I felt sorry for him as well during the scene where he tried to rescue the Dolphin. But not as sorry as I felt for the Dolphin:(
He reminds me of UFC legend, Hands of Stone:

Beautiful scene

Finished it, loved it. My boy Karl Urban's accent was a bit wonky, but that's just me nit-picking. He was great throughout.

I really liked Frenchie as well.

And what did time do to you, Jennifer Esposito? :(

Edit: That's actually massively unfair. She hardly looked bad. Who would have guessed that she wouldn't be the same beauty that she was a quarter of a century ago, though?

Show creator just did an AMA on reddit that was a solid read.
Cliff notes:
They're filming episode 3 of season 2 right now.
Season 2 will drop next summer.
Herogasm is planned for season 3.
They filmed a scene of Homelander jerking off atop a skyscraper and blowing a super load all over the city but was the only scene Amazon said no to.
