The best/worst presentations of MARVEL villains in film

Hela (Thor: Ragnarok) - They made her so badass.

Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier) - Pretty cool how they introduced him.

Worst

Dormammu (Dr Strange) - All that hype and he looks like a piece of wood who begs Dr Strange

Apocalypse (X:MEN Apocalypse) - Not part of MCU but highly disappointing. He sucked too

Trying to remember if I liked or disliked anything in particular. I didn't hate Apocalypse. I just found him to be another in a long string of middling villains.

Magneto is great when Fassbender plays him as an antihero in X-Men: First Class, if that counts.

Sabretooth was also pretty good in the first X-Men movie and the Wolverine origins movie.

Purple Man from Jessica Jones is probably the goat MCU villain up to now. Not much to look at as far as presentation goes, but damn

Galactus and Mandarin have been the worst.

Followed by Ultron and all the Dr Dooms and Apocalyse.

I thought Red Skull sucked, too.

Edit: @House by the Cemetery dropping that OG Deadpool lol. He’s in Galactus/Mandarin territory.

even ignoring the Black Panther 'first black hero' stuff, the lack of Blade I and II being discussed in overall comic book movie lore is sickening (not this site, just in general). Both of those movies are absolutely tremendous, especially given the environment they came out in and lack of success in superhero movies up to that pt

then you had Donnie Yen doing the choreography for Blade II, and people sit there w/ a straight face and say Winter Soldier had the best fight scenes. what?

They shat the bed with Juggernaut.

First they used Vinnie Jones. Then they made the character a mutant.

This is a character that stalled with WWHulk.... he's a fan favorite and they rarely use him but the one time they did they made a goofy copy of who he is.

They also depowered him. He used to be on par with Hulk, but now he's not even close (unless they changed it back again).

Juggernaut in X3 was ridiculous.

Galactus was a joke.

The "Mandarin" made me sick and upset.

Winter Soldier is solid I guess. same w/ Hela, even if she wasn’t given enough to do. Both Fassbender & McKellen were solid Magnetos.

most others are either okay, forgettable, disappointing, or bad.
