You don't need a supplement, you need to eat something when you get home. Cottage cheese and olives works well. Otherwise muscle milk.

I agree with this. However, this isn't the easiest thing to eat/drink right after you work out or even within an hour of when you work out. A supplement mix is nice and easy and you can usually bring it to the gym.

I use a protein/carb mix with BCAA's and creatine. I've had great success with it. However, I also eat cottage cheese and spinach and I drink some milk when I get home. Some celery and peanut butter is awesome too.
