I really, really, really didn't enjoy the second half of this film. There was a huge tonal shift at the end as well that really bothered me and didn't meet the beginning, which was entirely derivative of both Zodiac and Seven, but much more inferior in atmosphere and acting.

There were numerous scenes that induced eye rolls from the predictable writing in journals; "Something in the Way" by Nirvana being used; the question mark in the cappuccino; how little the film cared for collateral damage and loss of life with the flooding or the explosions on the freeway.

Pattinson was so much better in both the Lighthouse and Good Time, doing nothing but brooding as Bruce Wayne, going almost full emo. As Batman his voice wasn't as over the top as Bale's and while the suit was awesome, the action was pretty weak. I get its basically year two and he's not nearly as advanced in combat but overall it was him being a brute and fell flat. Farrell as Penguin, Kravitz as Kyle and Dano were the only real, true saving graces of this film outside of the exceptional score.

The action was ham fisted and Batman being able to take full on shotgun blasts and bombs to the chest killed all the suspense in those encounters. Dude woke up right before they took off his mask and was able to shake off that bomb? I'm not 12. This isn't transformers.

I was incredibly disappointed.

5/10.

Why do they make kids movies 15 certificate? I thought it absolute tosh, my son enjoyed it.

Turned it off after an hour. Going to have to try again. Hoping it gets better the second time.
Interesting, we did the same thing at my house. Haven't gotten around to rewatching it yet though.

Gotta be honest, after a rewatch I like the movie less than before. Takes way too long to get going. Felt more like a tv series strung along over the course of movie runtime. There’s a lot fluff you have to sit through. The best quality of it is Robert Pattinson in the suit. Probably the most believable Batman so far.

I did not like what they did with the penguin he was a side character with none if what makes the penguin the penguin he was just a fat Italian guy.

Riddler needed to get rid of the gimp mask.

i was wrong about thinking that pattinson will make a good batman.
he doesn't.

Didn't think it would actually make me wish Affleck was still Batman (as shitty as those movies were). Dude wasn't imposing at all as Batman, and just was non-existent as Bruce Wayne.

I put a 6 decent. Wasn't horrible by any means but wasn't really that great either. I felt Pattinson was miscast IMO. Batman was kind of weak in this movie. Struggling against cans, needed to be bailed out in the end. Movie looked pretty though. Nowhere near the Nolan trilogy or the Burton movies but clearly above the Schumacher turds.

His bruce wayne was probably the worst part. bale was believable as the playboy billionaire bruce wayne but he still had that sadness to him too and anger.

8/10 watched it a couple times now. I like the direction they took.

Really want to see it just afraid of the run time, that's titanic length

If they are going to do Bane in the sequel, then they should use Paulo Costa as inspiration. We have an incell Riddler. How about we have a narcissist, asshole, chad for Bane? Also, since Batman’s parents are kind of shitty people, they can make Bane Batman’s half brother that was abandoned by Batman’s father. They already explore that route in the source material.
