The Anime and Manga Thread v48

Sorta stopped watching anime years ago, other than the Ghibli films, which I love.

That said, I started watching this show called City Hunter. Came out in 1987.

It's funny as shit. Main character is this gun for hire that only takes on clients that are women lol.

Dude doesn't go 2 mins without doing something that would instantly get the show cancelled in today's day and change.

There's a part where he sexually harrasses like 3 girls in the space of 30 secs.

It's great stuff.

Last episode of hell's paradise was great.
I'm really intrigued by the mystery at the heart of the show and the action and animation is fantastic.

The main character was bothering me because he was kinda acting too emo/nonchalant in the first few episodes, but even that kinda changed.

Criminals condemned to death must go find the elixir of life on a strange island and bring it back to the shogun in exchange for a pardon... A very strange island
No, no, no. It's "fucking will make you stronger."

Pretty much watching anything from that era would be canceled nowadays. My wife and I were watching of all things the Golden Girls the other night, and boy were there some jokes that would make all the woke folk cry. Even funnier was I had just seen a Golden Girls pride shirt in Walmart, lol.

Thanks for the recommendation bro! I will look into this because that description kind of reminds me of "Great Teacher Onizuka" and I remember I loved that.

I randomly started watching The Daily Life of the Immortal King on Netflix and it was pretty good. Then I just realized there's a S2 and S3 that are already complete so I get more episodes to watch!

Also is the latest Demon Slayer season complete? How about Dr. Stone?

Isn't there a Jackie Chan movie based on that anime?

Man I watched this like 20 years ago. I finished it but don't remember it being anything special. Also watched Angel Cop around that time which I was much more impressed by.

More like 30 years ago no?... LOL.

From that same era or so one my favorite anime is Vision of Escaflowne.
The ending theme song is still one of my favorites.

This one still holds up I loved it.

I always looked forward to Sundays/Mondays because Demon Slayer: The Swordsmith Village arc would air. Now that the season has ended, I'm bummed out I don't have a show to look forward to every week anymore. :(

I rewatched Cyberpunk Edgerunners recently and god damn that show hits you emotionally like a ton of bricks cried like a little baby 10/10 would recommend

I don't remember finishing the series but I loved the movie and rewatched it a few months ago.

then you really should watch the series. I like the movie only because i know everything they cut out of the movie. If you don't watch the series there are a lot things you miss or wouldn't understand. The series is so good. You should give it another chance.

Summer anime season is looking good, Bleach , Jujitsu Kaisen, Jobless Reincarnation.
Not really a big Bleach fan. Stopped watching it during the trial (or was it execution) of that girl (forgot her name).

Excited for JJK season 2 and looking forward to Jobless Reincarnation.
