The Anime and Manga Thread v47

I finished the Netflix series of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

<23>

Gonna try to watch End of Evangelion tonight

Togashi loves his traps.

It’s gonna be the big reveal…. No Japanese man will act like this. They are onsen using folks. Homie was wearing sports bra underneath the tanktop top.

Mob has spin-off. I hope they animate that

I only have two episodes left of Nagatoro. I just finished the judo arc (which is the whole reason I checked it out in the first place), and I'm still harboring hope that it somehow becomes a low-key judo anime/manga, but I'm really glad I gave it a shot anyways. It's so surprisingly wholesome, especially when everyone in both of the mcs' friend groups becomes subtle wingmen for the two.

That said, I never realized how much I need a judo anime. I did some googling, and I think I'm gonna check out Ippon Again. I'm not huge on sports anime in general (unless you count 3gatsu no Lion I guess), but I'd love a sports anime about a sport I actually give a shit about. Are there any other good judo anime out there?

Yawara.

I started reading that a while ago and loved it. It was a nice mix of slice of life/sport. I like everything that author does, though, so I'm jot surprised that I enjoyed it. Unfortunately I couldn't find translations past like chapter 70 or something.

Thanks man. That has about a volume or so that I haven't read, but there's still 20 volumes left untranslated and given the age of the series, I doubt it ever will be translated completely. I prefer manga, but I might have to switch to the anime to finish this one since I can at least find that translated

Is Evangelion worth it? Many people regarded it as one of the best. But from what I read about it has many season, movies, and different endings. Might be very confusing.

Anyone ever watch Inuyasha too?

I've seen both. For evangelion, I prefer the manga.

The anime are all legendary, but seem to fall apart at one place or another. The manga is strong all the way through. Still, if you're not into manga, the anime is worth watching -- it was a pretty big deal for mecha and psychological thriller animes.

I watched inu yasha when I was a kid and I have very fond memories of those times, but it's not someothing that I'd rewatch as an adult. It's kind of your very typical shounen that seems to last far longer than it should, but if you liked the characters (which I did) then you enjoy the long ride and all the episodic adventures while they slowly advance the bigger plot.

What kind of anime are you looking for?

Is the anime and manga writer the same? How would you compare Eva and Code Geass? Code Geass was the best mecha I've seen imo.

I'm looking for good shounen with good story and likeable characters. I'm also looking for good comedy anime that is not too cheesy haha.

I plan on watching some mystery anime right now, this shounen/comedy is for after watching the mystery ones.

So, there are basically three different versions of Evangelion. There's the original 26 episode anime+ the movie End of Evangelion. That's a must watch IMO. Then there's the manga. That's also pretty good, but it changes a lot from the anime. Finally, there's the Rebuild of Evangelion movie series. I like it, but it's also completely different from the original. My recommendation is, watch the original+ EoE, then, of you want more, check out the rest.

Oh so the manga wasn't the original, I thought it was the original cause the release date is earlier than the first anime series.

Is the rebuild evangelion the continuation or totally different story from the original series brada?
