I tried reading the manga and thought it was atrocious. It's like they distilled all the worst parts of Naruto and made a series out of it. I couldn't even finish the first volume.
It's dumbed down Naruto. The actions scenes are good but the story is pretty shit. Naruto is a shit dad. He is so shit that Sasuke sorta becomes a temp father figure for Boruto. I don't understand why the daughter is so good and Boruto is the spawn of Satan.
Naruto was good they were able to build up their world. Each village were somewhat at odds and they had their own issues with missing or rogue ninjas. They had unique powers and the battles are fun. They went too far with the abilities and it's hard to scale down and rebuild for Boruto. The new big bads are the Otsutsuki. They are kind of boring and generic OP characters.
