That particular arc is painfully slow. Some character developments here and there but don't expect some season 1 action.
They saved a lot of the budget for the final fight in the last episode, and it really shows in some of the earlier episodes. Still loved it when I re-watched it a few years ago (have it on DVD from back when that was a thing).

You meant Samurai Deeper Kyo? The anime was trash because they don't really follow the manga, and introduced some weird time traveler character but the manga itself is pretty good althought it does have some holes.
