The Anime and Manga Thread v46 [OLD THREAD]

Very good chapter , good to see the poneglyph storyline make significant progress, but probably won't see Pluton just yet but it's like Oda dangling it in front of us , Frankie's right there so he knows how to make Pluton but at the same time a completed version is buried in ancient Wano.
Ryogokyu seems like a fucking try Hard seems as ruthless as Kizaru and Akainu but less cunning, as mentioned early the opposite of Fujitora, that Said Shanks Haki is massive that he can affect an Admiral from so far away enough where he has to retreat against opponents that are still weakened from facing Kaido , also Luffy , Zoro and Jinbe watching from afar means Shanks really didn't have to intervene but Oda is just giving us a Glimpse of Shanks' unyielding Spirit, the Red Hair Pirates putting the Summit War to an end has added added context for me, Shanks is a Monster and the Experienced Pirates in his crew have the Spirit to Stand alongside him.

What anime(s) are you guys watching these days? Thinking about picking up a series to watch, but nothing is gaining my interest. I'm mostly into action shonen and have watched most of the popular ones and many others. The only extremely popular one that I have yet to watch is One Piece, but I don't have the time for that long term commitment. Anyway throw out some suggestions. Only thing I just started to watch is the second season of The Orient that just came out, which is just ok. Really wanted to start Kingdom, but I couldn't even get half way through the first episode. Should I give it another chance? Was thinking about rewatching Bleach to give myself a refresher before the new season comes out, but we'll see...

Did you watch the new Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer? They are pretty standard when it comes to Shonen. There is nothing groundbreaking in terms of story but it's really pretty. Animation style is so good now.
Pick up Claymore. It's an old one that needs a reboot. HxH is alright. I think it's funny

Yes I already watched all of them except for Claymore. A friend of mine actually recommended it a few years back, but never picked it up. I may have to look into it again. Thanks!

There is also Jojo. You can sorta watch them in non sequential order.

Saw all of that too  ...I"ve watched so many action shonen (because that's pretty much all I watch) I cleared most of the popular to semi-popular ones with the except of some classics I can't seem to pick up like Inuyasha and mecha (not into those).

However after typing this it reminded me of all the sport anime I have yet to watch. The only sport one I've watch is the sumo one that came out a few years ago. Should I start Haikyuu, Slam Dunk, Hajime no Ippo, something else? either that or I'll just end up starting Stranger Things...

They have eyeshield 21 and Kuroko. I never watched sports anime. I am a shonen normie trash watcher. I recently strayed outside my comfort zone and watched food wars.
You can go comedy shonen and go with Gintama or Disasterous life of Saikai K. Gintama has a few hundred episodes. I just have it running in the background when I workout in the garage.

Haha, already watched Gintama and it's actually one of my favorites when it gets serious. Kind of wish I never watched it until now since I didn't get a lot of the parody due to the lack of anime I didn't watch before then.

How did you like food wars? I feel like I would really enjoy sports anime, but maybe I just need to plunge in and find out...

I would suggest you watch One Piece, but watch the well paced version that skips all the nonsense and fillers.

One Pace is the site. Later on in the show, pacing is so damn slow Im surprised they didnt kill the show. It got so bad I had to drop it. Didnt even finish the Big Mama shit or whatever it was called.

Every few years though, I have a yearning and One Piece is the finest example of masterful worldbuilding in drawn/written form imo.

Didn't know they made a condensed version, but not surprised! That's how I ended up watching Naruto. Found Naruto Kai and decided to jump in while watching most of it at 1.25x the speed. I'll check out One Pace. It's one of the most popular anime for a reason and I'm easy to please so I know I'll enjoy it if I pick it up.

I think the first season was interesting. The anime food actually looked good lol. It just loses its steam after second season.

Hey thanks man. I might start it again. I dropped it because I legit got sick of the intros. I got up to the war arc

How good/bad is One Piece Dub? If I do end up watching the condensed version I would probably be more consistent with the dub since I may be multitasking at the same time in some instances.

I have no issues with it. Luffy sounds like Naruto to me.

Thanks for posting that. I will try and start it this weekend if I have time!
You are either going to like it or hate. One Piece people have the weirdest body dimensions. When you reach the transsexual arc you would be like meh this is the most normal thing in the series.

20 chapters of Hunter X Hunter excepted. Nice.

Thanks. That was one I considered several times, but then keep forgetting about it. I may try it out. Haven't had the chance to just sit and watch anything so we will see.
