The Anime and Manga Thread v46 [OLD THREAD]

Some of the most beautiful art in anime.....too bad I didnt like it and couldnt finish. Its just so boring, and the MC is so ..... boooooring.

I guess beautiful art makes the 'sad' work more melancholic and poignant? I dunno it just adds to the experience and gives it more dimension.

Ill give these a go. Thanks man.

Its not just one of the best anime movies, its one of the best movies ever. Its up there with damn Akira, Spirited Away etc
Anohana - Sad somewhat of a slow burner only like 12 or 18 eps

Angel Beats - Starts out you have no idea what it is going to be. Probably top 4 most soul crushing shows that I've seen

To your Eternity - Something different has a unique story, its the same author as A Silent Voice so it explores the same kind of themes about human interaction. IT IS NOT the same kind of setting or story however. It will punch you in the dick often.

The Day I became a god - If you watch Angel Beats, you'll know what to expect. This is the same author and it's just dick punch central. not as sad as Angel Beats but still quite good.

I was gonna start Anohana tomorrow, its damn late here. I guess Angel Beats is whats gonna be next tho, I want some of that depressive pain lol.

Gonna watch all tho, ty for looking out.

Damn, that CP0 agent accepted his fate with quiet dignity. Just a simple tip of the hat.

I have further devolved into trash anime. Watched Nagatoro and it was great.

Is Attack on Titan season 4 over? If so, time for me to start binging it.

Final season is still going. Unfortunately I’ve been caught up and just getting a 22min fix per week which is just a c:eek:ck tease waiting a week between episodes when the story is at such a robust point.

Latest Northen Blade, Battles keep continuing. Now it looks like 3 eyed scholar is about to face his most feared opponent in the Smart Girls Grandfater. Warrior Damn is a Real Bro , also Un-Kyung (The Demonic Guy) is like a Cockroach. Mu-Won and The Minister have a Staredown , Even though he doesn't know the full details of the Conspiracy he knows the Minister is a key enemy. Feels like the Series is entering its Final Arcs

I finished Death Note anime after binging a lot this weekend. My thoughts:

Really enjoyed it overall, but not gonna lie the last arc was just ok. After L died I started to lose interest. I'm sure many was hoping Light winning at the end, but I'm ok with him losing and then getting killed by Ryuk. I heard there are alternate endings in the Japanese live actions though.

Would anyone recommend watching anything else Death Note related? Prequel? Live action movie vs series?

yeah, death note was amazing until

L died. and then it went from one of the tightest plots to one of the sloppiest/worst/dumbest/holiest plots - immediately. imo, it's one of the most disappointing series ever because of how horribly it fell off.

i mean... american gangsters somehow magically concluding that a notebook weapon exists and that it's in japan and that this cop in japan has it... and he'll give it to gangster terrorists. oh, and let's put it on a missile and launch it!

fucking WAT?

the end was horrible, too. 'oh, we got access to the death note one day earlier and this guy managed to counterfeit the entire thing by hand' - yeah, totally.

Yeah, such a crappy last arc that we tend to see in a lot of anime. Like YYH for example.

Mashiba finally acknowledges Ippo.

Lots of character development.

On to the next arc!

Been busy and only just got to it.

This feels like a "despite all the progress the good guys end up losing and need to regroup." We're in the Empire Strikes Back phase.

I think Death Note went bad once the girl was introduced

I think there is going to be a Death Flag for one of the Protagonists . Possibly one of the Poison Trio possibly the girl, just a hunch.

I was watching weekly until I couldn't take it anymore. I'm now waiting for the whole thing to end.

In other news I watched the first episode of Kotaro lives alone, really enjoyed it, can be very funny at times.
