The Anime and Manga Thread v46 [OLD THREAD]

Sadly with the authors health issues I don't think she gives a shit either way. She's blind in one eye and paralyzed in her hands.
She has a twitter. She still draws but slowly. She seems kinda bitter though. She gets meltdowns once in a while and deletes everything. She is super protective of her art. She has at least one volume done recently but they didn't publish it yet. I am a fan. She writes a story that isn't so basic.

I guess Hunter X Hunter will never come back.

Togashi just straight up ghosted.

I wonder if Miura's death has given him a new perspective to live his life , I hope Togashi finds peace there are so many stories of him suffering anxiety and depression.

I think author of Gangsta get paid too little to outsource it . From my understanding, Toriyama isn't really involved in Dragon Ball Super outside a supervisory role and he has been training an apprentice to take over. He does some concept art and the apprentice follow his style. There is somewhat a drop in quality though.

Togashi should be able to train someone to take over because the HxH franchise is big enough but I don't think he wants to really let others carry the heavy load. I binged on Gangsta manga and it's really good. I hope they at least do a lazy light novel version.
Don’t think he wants somebody to draw his work for him. Togashi apparently has written more of the story but it’s been on hiatus for over 3 years. Wish he would give the green light but it’s his work in the end.

Yeah hopefully. Mangaka work schedule is brutal.

I Marvel at ODA and Morika's consistent work rate , respect that they are in the 1000s for both series.

George has the power of the troll on his side. Every time a reader says "damnit, George!" it gives him strength.

I am going to hopefully watch this tomorrow

I showed my friend Vampire hunter D, the 2000 movie. He loved it. I have to say the quality of animation and the attention to detail in the design and aesthetics is just second to none.

Shame Yoshiaki Kawajiri hasn't done much in recent years.

The 2000 version toned down the gore though.

I first saw the 2000 version, I think I saw clips of the other one on YouTube but the difference in animation quality turned me off from watching more.

I own both on DVD and I think 2000 is definitely the better film. The animation quality is far better and I liked the plot more. Actually, I can't remember the plot from the '85 version off the top of my head. It's been ~10 years since I last watched either but I remember Bloodlust pretty well, and only small bits of '85.

Well that's the animation quality from that period. You're really missing out, I don't think it's even an hour long.

there is better quality stuff from the 80s especially if we are talking movies. Akira was in 1988 and some of the Ghibli movies.
