Well needing 30 assault rifles in your home is about as excessive as owning a tank. is the goal home defense or to make up for the lack of balls god didn't give you?

just say "hey bvg i have no balls and need guns, lots and LOTS of guns to replace them"

oh wait, you're that dummy who thinks that i'm suggesting that pistol grips can make someone do more sit ups and push ups...

you learn to follow along yet?

I think you have me confused for another poster, but anyway you're not making an argument here. You're just subjectively making your own risk assessment. Why are you more qualified to make someone else's?

You still have yet to answer my question about why you draw the line at a pistol grip. The only reasoning I see you offer is that the military uses it. What does that have anything to do with civilians?

You said it yourself, you can only use one at a time, that leaves a theoretical 29 unused, so what's the problem?

An even better question is, even if x object was designed for y purpose but it's used responsibly, what's the problem? We'll go back to a point I previously made, what you think was designed for shooting deer while soaked in deer piss and sipping coffee, was in fact, actually designed for COMBAT. Turns out, the military doesn't have a monopoly on accuracy, ruggedness and reliability; hunters and sportsman wanted those features too. And just like back then, modern hunters want the advantages of lighter weight and smaller packages to easily pack across the bush and backcountry. They also want user friendliness and better ergonomics. These are not exclusive to COMBAT, they're desirable feature in virtually any application or industry. So what are you getting at, as soon as a firearm sheds weight, is more compact and manoeuvrable, more user friendly and ergonomic, it ceases to have a sporting application?

Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit!

i dunno what's gone wrong in m'urica where everyone assumes everyone else is out to get them...but it sounds like a shitty place to live if that's the case.

Yeah I suppose you're right. It must be heaven to live in a country with a government that can decide to ass rape you of all your rights whenever they have a crisis large enough to get away with it.

I already answered this. Common sense says you don't need to be as armed as someone going to war because you won't be in nearly as severe an environment ...or the police trying to keep the peace. But...American society thinks otherwise so now you have a mess of mass shooting, and a high rate of shooting deaths.

This is A ok, right Big Vaginal Gash?

You're still going to potentially be in a gun fight if you're defending your home. Have you been in a lot of those? Are you an expert on home defense? Why are you qualifying yourself to make that risk assessment for everyone else?

Do you look three times before crossing the road or only twice? Your decision to mitigate risk is not going to be the same as everyone around you.

exactly who are you expecting to invade your home? Russian KGB??? on the off chance that your home is invaded a friggin hand gun is more than enough to scare off attackers. you won't ever need a howitzer...

you don't wear a helmet on your head for fear of a piano falling on it do ya?

I don't think you have ever shot a gun. You seem insanely ignorant. "Hand guns" are difficult to aim and hit targets without putting thousands of rounds through the gun with good fundamentals. And why the fuck would you use a gun to "scare off" an attacker? You should be killing attackers in your home. Are you retarded?

My home was invaded and at the time I didn't have a gun. NEVER AGAIN.

I honestly hope someone breaks into your home so you can feel what real fear is.

Oh do tell more. How'd that go down? One guy?

You could also potentially have a piano fall on your head. Or you could potentially get hit by car....or you could potentially drown in a swimming pool. Does this require you to wear safely helmets, flashing neon lights for cars to see you or scuba diving equipment?

...

Are you by chance the guy who said having two bachelors degrees equaled a masters?

Just food for thought, but if my goal was to steal guns and I caught wind that you had 30... Would I rather risk my neck stealing 30 guns in 30 homes or would I just go after you?

I'd suggest then in buying a rocket launcher and take aiming out of the equation...

You would do neither, because:

A: You should understand that breaking into a home with guns gives you a VERY good chance of getting justifiably shot.

B: If you somehow didn't understand that, you would lack the mental stability to successful pull off any robberies.

Any other answer is just "keyboard tough guy" nonsense on your part.

No, it doesn't require anything, but people should have the right to choose those options should they desire to do so.

Do you understand why individual choice is superior to collective coercion?

Farmer Brown, what would you do if a trespasser came on your property?

This post sounds like someone who is likely to die making very stupid choices.

Joggers often wear reflective gear or a light...

Pretty terrible comparison on the others. A helmet for a piano literally doesn't change anything.

Better comparisons.

Owning a good fire extinguisher in case a fire starts. Wearing a life vest while doing water sports. Wearing a seat belt. There are laws to build gates or have child proof doors if you own a pool.

You can be attacked or invaded by someone potentially at any time. Chances are low but they are there. Do I think it will happen to me? No. Most of my firearms were purchased with the intent just to have fun shooting. I will say that I believe the AR to be the best HD weapon.

Better hope he isn't home and you can break into a large safe. Are you suggesting that people shouldn't own a high number of firearms because some pos might want to steal them?

As far as owning a lot of modern semi auto rifles. There are many different calibers and set ups you can own.

Popular calibers. .22lr, .223, 5.45x39, 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 spc, 300 acc blackout, 7.62x39, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308, 458 socom, 50 beowulf. Then you have pistol caliber AR's. 9mm, 357 sig, .40 s&w, .45, 10mm. That's 16 right there and with the most popular calibers people often want different set ups. So barrel lengths you have short barrel rifle sizes (under 16" oal, 7.5, 8.5, 10 and 12.5 are pretty popular for people that get the tax stamp) , 14.5" with pinned muzzle device, 16", 18", 20". Different optics for different builds etc. Variety is the spice of life. Not that you care or understand the perspective of owning or wanting different calibers and set ups.

I'd suggest then in buying a rocket launcher and take aiming out of the equation...

Another stupid as fuck response. Someone tries to educate you on the fact that it takes a good amount of time and practice to be proficient with a pistol and you respond in pure retardation.

Also lol at scare off.

This is the final argument why we need guns

oh another one

It would depend upon the circumstances. If a trespasser came onto my hunting property during the afternoon to pick some apples from my Apple tree, I would likely strike up a conversation.

If a trespasser kicked my door in a 3a.m. it would be safe to say that person is a risk to the safety of myself and my family.

I think some people were hoping for...

He steps in inch onto my property in a peaceful manner with a gift basket and I...
