I am against a success tax, but i can see if you are dependent on the government taking care of you, that you would want the rich to pay more.
I have a job. I'm just acknowledging there is a difference in discretionary income. I wouldn't ask a person making 20k a year to pay the same rate as me. It makes far more sense for the first 20k to be a lower rate and the next 20k a higher rate. Keep in mind, with a progressive bracket, we both paid the same rate on that first 20k. We aren't demonizing the higher than 20k people by raising the rate. We are simply acknowledging the first amount of income you receive go to basic needs and the later income doesn't.
