That time GSP ducked fighting Whittaker

Haha you so mad. I love it.

Replies like this make sherdog fun. Poor fella is so upset
Are you confusing me with one of the guys you were arguing with in this thread? Serious question.

I've thoroughly enjoyed this thread, thank you for getting hilariously destroyed.

He also finished Bisping who was on a 5 fight winning streak including wins over Anderson, Rockhold, and Henderson.

yeah, who he cherry-picked. i guarantee you rockhold would have destroyed him, and if rockhold were champ at the time, he wouldn't have come back. fighters at gsp's level aren't dumb. they know who they think they could beat or not.

All of what you've said would be justified if GSP did not win. But he did win. Convincingly.

Deserved the fight because of his fight resume, which was better than any other fighters who wanted to fight for that belt.
No waste of time as it was a great fight in which he performed admirably.

no, it was a waste of time. he never intended on defending the belt, which is why the ufc doesn't like gsp. the contenders were much harder fights than bisping. gsp knew who to fight at that point of his career. he was very old in his career at that time. he fought the guy he thought he could beat at 185. the other top contenders would have beaten him for sure.

I agree he knew he could beat Bisping. I disagree that he couldn’t beat Rockhold.

Fighting another contender at any weight class wasn't going to mean anything.

He fought the champ. In a higher weightclass. He was not going to come back for anything less.

On top of that he won. Convincingly.

hahaha, you think he could have beaten rockhold? oh man, that's fucking funny.
Rockhold was starting to reach that point where he wasn't in his prime anymore and Rockhold never had the best chin especially at that point in his career. I think that fight could have went either way. I mean Bisping was able to catch Rockhold and KO him.

You still mad and that amuses me. Made every post worth it.

Get wrecked.

i don't consider gsp a two-weight champ. one fight beating the champion doesn't make you a champion to me. you have to fight contenders before and then fight the champion to become a true champion. i mean damn, even at least one contender before lol.

it's all marketing by the ufc. and gsp knew it. he knew that one win over bisping would give him that title. he didn't want to compete. he simply wanted the title.
So you believe Pacquiao was only like a 2 weight champ and Floyd as well? Since they didn't just hang out in ahitty divisions Canelo as well?

Forget Whitaker. He ducked Silva and fought a missing eye bisping. Then ducked mw div after years ducking Hendricks. A Hendricks that pummeled him into retirement.
Hendricks is one of those guys that had a sudden crash landing. It was definitely related to USADA, as the IV rules ruined his weight cutting (and many accuse him of PEDs, though he always tested clean). Just because Hendricks had a quick downfall doesn't mean he was an absolute beast in his prime who could give any current WW fits.

I'm pretty sure GSP fought Hendricks after he had an ACL injury/surgery which is a game changer.

Silva cherry picked Irvin, Bonnar and Griffin. All perfect stylistic matchups. Then he tried to cherry pick Nick (and actually fought him), Nate and even Conor. He actually called out Conor on 4 occastions.

Fedor cherry picked lower orgs rather than come to the ufc.

Those examples were far worse cherry picks than GSP ever done but i don't see you crying about it.

Avenged his only two losses like a fucking boss, never took PED’s and represented himself and his country like a true professional martial artist.
Not to mention his resume was really fucking good

Hughes
Hendricks
Penn
Sherk
Bisping
Fitch
Shields
Nick Diaz
Condit
Alves
Koscheck
Hardy
Serra
Trigg
Miller
Hieron
Parisyan
Etc

And other than Hendricks and Bisping (Both after the ACL sugery) and his two losses (which he mauled them in the rematches) He destroyed them all. Georges especially from 2008 - 2010 was pretty much almost unbeatable Even by todays standards. I don't think any WW today could beat 2008 - 2010 Georges.

Ok well if you weren't impressed by his performances then you are unlikely to be impressed today. I'm not here to change your mind. He'll always be one of my favourite fighters to watch.

You seem to have issues with reading comprehension.

Wouldn’t call it a cherry pick, opportunistic is a better way to describe it imo.
