GTFO. They quietly defunded it because they realized it was a waste of money. 4 years ago Abbott declared that Texas would be the first state to build its own border wall. What happened? They abandoned ship, and no amount mental gymnastics is going to change that. It's real fucking rich that they will now try to hit up the Feds for more funds. This was a failure. Plain and simple. And now the side that has been droning on and on about waste and fraud is running interference.

What is the waste and fraud? You got fake news'd like 5 different ways just within your own source and are now incoherent trying not to admit it, first thinking they had only completed 8% of expected progress, then thinking the federal government had only completed 25 miles nationwide, and now thinking

Building the 30 ft high wall along the entire border of Texas costs less money in total than the state of California has already spent on their fraud train, and have already gotten billions in federal funds on top of that for something they're already a decade into with nothing to show for it.

The national border is a federal job, but Texas built some themselves because democrats were in charge of the federal government and didn't want to stop illegal immigration. They rightfully got voted the fuck out of power, and the rest of the project is going back to the federal government. They built 450 miles in Trump's first term, so building that amount in Texas this term would have like 75% of the entire border covered with new wall.

Or better yet, they can just take it out of the billions in federal funding that was cut to cover for California's failed train project after it was deemed to have no viable path for completion, but at least you get a 20 mile stretch of unfinished tracks for the low price of $40 billion they've already stolen from their taxpayers whole the homeless population skyrockets.
