I follow wsm competitor terry Hollands on Facebook and has opened a gym near where I live.https://m.facebook.com/hollandssandc?refsrc=http://www.google.co.uk/&_rdr
To say I'm stoked is an understatement.
Going down there this weekend to check it out.
I'm looking forward to curling in his squat racks.
He provides a free 1 on 1 training session when you join.
As an ex strongman competitor I'm really looking forward to this.

That will be great. Let us know how it goes. A write up would be cool.

I second the the write up especially if you get a free 1 on 1 with him. Terry Hollands seems like a pretty cool guy, I imagine he has lots of good info and advice for strongman.

I just went and visited the gym
Its a small warehouse unit which is like an alladins cave of equipment
Ghr, logs, battle ropes etc etc
All his worlds strongest competition tops hang on the walls
Terry was maning the gym on his own
He seemed pretty cool and laid back
To be honest the only bad point about the gym is the distance. Its 15 miles away and that's mainly motorway. It took me twenty minutes to get there but I know sometimes that 15 miles could take two hours with shitty English traffic.
I'm gonna join but also keep my membership going for my old gym
There both pretty cheap and it gives me options if I can't make it to his place I can go to my other gym.
I'm just getting changed now to go to his gym.
After Christmas my gym bag looks like sbd sponsors me.

Sounds good seamus, Eddie hall owns or at least trains at a gym which is about 45 mins drive from me. I've thought about training there at some point. Be good to train in an environment where people lots stronger than me train.

Just got back from training
Firstly
In the 19 odd years of off and on training I have done this is the first gym that played slipknot
Its normally always shit dance music
Terry just walks around the gym chatting and advising people
Was weird having my log lift technique being critiqued by the fifth strongest man in the world
Thinking about it the one plus also will be the visiting strongmen
There is a strongman show this month with people like big z attending in my town.
I'm guessing there's a good chance they might train there.

Met Eddie Hall a couple of months ago. Had a pic done, I'm not a huge guy but he makes me look tiny.

That's fantastic. Being able to train at a good gym, with like minded people, is an incredibly positive experience. Even if you couldn't train there all the time, even a couple times a week would be pretty good - like doing the heavy work with the main lifts, and strongman stuff there, and lighter work with the main lifts, and assistance at a more convenient gym.

Derek Poundstone has a gym a few towns over from me. If my brother ever closes his gym, that's my next stop.
