TERMINATOR: DARK FATE v.2 (First Reactions)

Having a Terminator protect John Conor in T2 and having this in Dark Fate really irks me my man

Where is the tension when the main character has 2 huge Terminator protecting him/her?

Back in T1 they got it right. Kyle Reese was a human trying to take down a fucking Terminator
At least in T2, Arnold was an older model and the new terminator was tougher so there was that tension there too.

This seems like the “upgraded human” chick is OP when compared to the new terminator coming for them.

And how in the fuck is Arnold just chilling in the woods?

Is he supposed to be the cop they modeled the Terminator out of?

T1/2 the T-800’s are dead. And for sure the skin covering is gone.

How do we just randomly have a T-800 in the woods that’s not running around trying to kill Sarah and John Conor?

I want a Terminator movie that’s in the future, after Judgment day not involving Saving John Conor.

From the timeline we see in T1, maybe even after John and Kyle are both dead. Or with Kyle and the John from that future, the hardass John we saw in the clip of the future.

Not the whiny brat he becomes everytime someone goes back to save his candy ass.

I wonder why there is even a T-800? If John
and Sarah stopped Skynet and changed the future to the point that Skynet has been replaced with a new terminator creater “Legend,” wouldn’t the Skynet model terminators not exist anymore?

Didn't fall for Genysis which turned out to be shit. Not talking for this one either. This series ended at T2

James Cameron had nothing to do with this outside of convincing Linda to come back. He's a bit more invested because he owns the rights to Terminator again but other than producer credit (which is given at will to important people), it's all Tim Miller. His only other credit is Deadpool which I guess a lot of people liked. At least it's R-rated so it won't be toned down for a teen audience.

I'm sure it'll be a perfectly acceptable action movie but don't let Carmeron's attachment fool you. Cameron also endorsed Salvation and Genisys as being true to his vision and hyped those up as well.

Heard Hamilton's narration...

Immediate cringe. This will suck.

I know that the T-800 is inferior to the T-1000 but it didn't feel like that a lot of the time

T-800 fights the T-1000 head to head in the mall and pretty much wins

They meet again at the hospital and once again the T-800 is able to fend off the T-1000

The only time the T-1000 really beat the shit out of Arnold was at the end and even then Arnold came back and destroyed the T-1000

I rewatched Salvation. It wasn't that bad. I don't understand why everyone hates it.

In T1 Kyle Reese had to die to inflict damage on this thing

He had to die to even give Sarah a chance to beat this thing

Shows how outmatched they both were

In Terminator 2 Sarah Conor just walks up to the thing with a shotgun lol

The T-800’s to me, were always Skynet’s battled tested killing machine’s. The T-1000 seem to be created as an advanced assassin, not really created for heavy combat like the 800 series. I guess you can compare them to cars; the T-800 is Skynet’s “don’t make them like they used to” models, and the more advance models are the types that are often created as top of the line, and are often rushed to assembly and full of flaws despite being better than the other models in all areas, except some of the most crucial.

there are aspects of it I don’t like but overall I didn’t find it bad.

It’s way better than 3 and I never watched genisis

They shouldn’t in the future, but wouldn’t “erase” any that were already here.

Depending on how they do time travel stuff in their “world”

Most have it to where changes in the past make a “new” future timeline that’s different than the original but doesn’t change the previous “current “ future.

I never felt it was actively bad- but it was mediocre and forgettable. And given how The Terminator and Terminator 2 were excellent and memorable, that was a big problem.

Terminator fans are worse than Star Wars fans. And they are the two fanbases getting screwed each time something new airs lol

With "Star Wars", it's like watching the Hindenburg crash. There's still shock and awe at how badly they're fucking it up, and you can't help but watch.

With "Terminator" it's like watching cars run over the bones of long dead roadkill. The initial hit was squeamish to watch, but now you just shake your head at the carcass still being there, and wonder when someone is gonna finally just scoop it off the road and put the poor little guy to rest.
