Just got a call from a headhunter for a position in Cincinnati. The position itself is nice ... but I know nothing about the city itself. What's good about it? What's bad?

Southwest Ohio. 30 min from me. There is a river. Go to Over The Rhine for some hipster restaurants. Go to Rhinegeist for hipster beer. Watch bengals and reds lose all the time.

Dont follow the bengals, you will be left frustrated ... Been there a few times .. From what i remember it was like an endless suburb

I visited. Interviewer gave me tickets to see the reds. They lost.

OTR had some nice restaurants, and I got driven around to the breweries until I floated.

Come to The Beach! Come to The Beach! It's easy to reach - right across from The Island!!!

Stay away from Over the Rhine at night, maybe even the day. Major homeless and drug addict problem there. It's pretty dangerous.

Lived there 37 yrs...traffic is horrible. Reds and Bengals definitely are frustrating but I still love them. Stay away from OTR, Price Hill, Northside, and Avondale. Good chance of getting shot.

Lived there 1999-2001. Much of the city was an absolute shit hole. I'm told some of the slums have improved a bit (yeah gentrification) but I was there briefly a year ago and it still looked pretty shitty. Mt Adams is a cool neighborhood if you want to live in the city. If you're looking for a suburban life then check out Montgomery.

I had the impression Cincinnati was abolished about 10 years ago.

Southern Ohio is pretty, IMO. I like the rolling hills and hardwood forests. Housing is pretty affordable.

I've been there once for a Bengals/Ravens game. While tailgating at 8am a car pulled in the spot next to us. The door opened and a 20 something year old guy literally fell out and goes "Wow, I should NOT be driving". Then he shotgunned a beer.
