I'm moving this december to start training at a great school and i was wondering what everyone opinions were on which one to go to? Which ones have what kind of strengths, etc. Just by looking at the schedules, Team Quest offers a LOT more trianing opportunities, but ATT seems to be more of a group, more like they are a family if you see what im saying, more tight-knit i guess, and Chute boxe USA i've always just thought of chute boxe as the real deal, but looking at their schedule for the week, they don't seem to train as much as i had expected, same with ATT. I'm just looking for opinions before i make a huge decision. Thanks in advance for any help guys. Oh, and i'd love to train at MFS, but again, their schedule seemed a little weak. idk, what do you guys think

depends on what quest school, ATT is the real deal, and chute boxe USA is ok but the school you want is in brazil

Depends on what you are looking for, pure BJJ the I would either go to ATT (moving to Flordia would be a plus) or BTT in Boston.

well i want MMA, i like wrestling, submission grappling/BJJ, and striking all equally. i mean i like them all a LOT, so i'd like to be able to do them a few times a day. And looking at the Team Quest schedule there are a so many more classes than the others, but i've always heard the best about ATT and chute boxe (even though it wasn't USA). See, what me and my friend want is a place where we can train all day long, basically from the time they open to the time they close and get better and better all the time. Does ATT have classes going on all the time where we could spend the whole day there, or do they have classes most of the time, and then open gym/open ring where ppl can spar and roll w/e they want? I'd choose ATT before TQ for all the other reasons, except the schedule for Team Quest (portland) seems to offer sooo many more training opportunities than the others, but i'd like to hear from people that actually train at ATT, what's a normal day like there? Are my goals realistic in wanting to basically spend the whole day training? And don't get the wrong impression here, me and my friend are in no way advanced, we've never received real instruction before, but we're looking to start somewhere and why not with the best yankow. But we don't just want to go there for a little bit during the evening. We want to wake up, grab breakfast, head to the gym to train and stay there for a while, maybe leave to get lunch, and come back until the place closes basically. But seeing as how we are beginners, we'd like to spend a lot of the day taking classes to learn more and get better. I guess we just want to know what a day at Team Quest is like in comparison to a day at ATT? Sorry to rant, it's just hard to explain what we're looking for yaknow.

checking out the brazilian top team site, they have the unlimited classes deal for 100 bucks a month. I like that a lot. Does ATT do that also? How many classes do they run on a daily or weekly basis (only really interested in wrestling, boxing, BJJ, and MT)?

training all day long as beginners is going to get you injured real fast.

Yeah, what he said. And by the way, how old are you?

You think the schedule at Miletich looks weak? Go there. When you're arms are capable of moving again, tell us about your surprise about the weak schedule.

thank you, I agree. With little experience you dont understand how hard it is to train. Try a gym near your home first, before jumping head first in to something then you might not like. Very few people can handle what its like to train thats why drop out rates are so high. Your mind and body will be abused and it takes years to become good at MMA, if you become good at all. Second you seem like Att, quest, or whatever is going to just welcome you to train with their top fighter. You have to earn that right with hard work, willingness to learn, and loyalty to that school. Go with ATT, good luck

personally, i would go with ATT... because i'd love to train under liborio.

some guys i trained with went down to att for about a week a while ago and said it was amazing.... it's quite an experience from what they said.

Well there isnt anywhere around my home to train, so i figure you have to start somewhere, why not start w/ the best yaknow. And im 18 years old. And physically, it will push me but im not a couch potato trying to go from zero to hero. I ran high school track, done folkstyle wrestling for local clubs and for high school, played baseball in high school, and i attempted rec basketball 1 year and scored 2 points all season, so that was the end of that. But i'm in great shape. And i hear you on the having to earn respect thing bro. I'm completely willing to work my ass off and do whatever it takes to get better and better, and i'm fine with that taking time. i'd just like to get as much in as i can to learn as much as i can yaknow. No point in sitting around waitin to die! From the sounds of it, ATT is the way to go althought we are beginners. So could someone explain to me what a typical day is like at ATT, or is it just like the schedule says? Does it feel more like a "hobby" or more like a job as far as how often you do stuff there. I'm shooting for the "job" feeling. I see what you guys are saying about over training, but i'm saying i want to go in and just start learning and then practice what i've learned some, and then learn some more and practice what i learned some, and then if classes aren't going on maybe have open mat or be free to spar or something. I want excel. I can see physical over-training, but over-learning? I'm an honors student! :D But seriously, i'd just like to know what a typical day is like, maybe just wrestling in the morning, boxing early afternoon, muay thai in the late afternoon/evening, and BJJ late evening/night? That would be awesome, get some of everything we want in every day. I realize that my goal of 2-3 training sessions of each aspect would be far too much, but 1 training session of each aspect daily too much?

There are also a lot of intangibles you aren't taking under consideration that you should...i.e. the cities where the gyms are located, accomodation, how much does it cost to live in those certain cities monthly, rent, car (if you go to florida), weather, etc etc...

Don't focus just on the gym itself because no matter how good training you may have, if you won't be able to afford staying there more than a month or aren't happy in that city and start getting depressed, it will all be in vain.

no we've been looking at apartments in FL and in portland (depending on if we choose ATT or Team Quest) w/ 2 bedrooms, and between the both of us having jobs, we can easily make rent, pay for food and gas, and pay the bills (including training, utilities, etc.) and have some left over. Plus, we're saving up from now until December, which is when we are moving. Right after christmas! And i'm not really worried about the city, i mean besides our jobs and training, we won't be "hitting the town" much yaknow. Training is going to be our number 1 priority when we make this move. It's really not just a move for us, it's a big lifestyle change.

Well being active as you are is alot better then start for the couch. Fighting takes a different type of cardio sents alot of force is going against your movements. Try training everyday but not too hard in the beginning. Lets your body and mind get use to the feel, force, and energy you will use. I train 4-6 days a week, tues and thurs 2 times a day, plus lift weights and its very hard on my body. I've been training for 2 years and I love it more then anything but I know when my body needs rest. Try pushing yourself a little at a time, and i'm sure you'll be good. There are a few ATT guys who post here and i'm sure they came give you some good info on the school.

Well if you have the means to, definately come to ATT. I live in West Palm Beach which is 40 minutes away from ATT headquarters, but I drive down 4 times a week for the training, which uses up a ton of gas, but it is worth it.

One more thing, your 18! You have your whole life to train. So stop acting like you have 1 year left in your life :icon_chee MMA is still going to be here for a while I promise. Take your time, and enjoy other things in life beside MMA like traveling

Listen to this man.

i know i know, but i'm serious about getting better, and there really aren't too many other things in life i care for, besides friends, family, and females :D Beyond that, it's like MMA and..... yeah that's about it. I'm leaning more towards ATT now, plus it's relatively close to the beach isn't it?
