i remember seeing that fight on stumbleupon around 2007-2008 and it blew my fucking mind i watched it a few times couldnt believe it was real life

Hope he is able to get back to a somewhat normal physical life.

I don’t know, I think anybody would fall into deep depression and willing to die.
Imagine that you can’t move at all and you need help for every single thing.

Takayama was paralyzed due to a failed spot in a pro wrestling match in Japan in 2017 (DDT Promotion)

For the young kids who didn't know, these two guys gave the MMA world one of, if not the most exciting and heart stopping toe to toe exchanges, and one of the greatest fights ever in PRIDE 21 (2002)

It was legendary.

Takayama has been in rehab in the last couple of years and as of last year, can stand now with support.
