Who are some high level guys who have tapped to strikes?

Follow up question. Do you count tapping to strikes as a submission or TKO?

Shogun

Submission because you submitted to your opponent; TKO is when a ref does that for you.

Tito tapping vs Shamrock immediately comes to mind.

Edit: Can't really see the tap well from that angle, but he was tapping.

Mirko Cro Cop verbally submitted to strikes to Junior Dos Santos.

Soa Palelei tapped to strikes to Daniel Cormier, the only finish loss of his career.

I've seen Drew Fickett tap to strikes. I thought Brian Ebersole, I could be wrong.

^ Rashad also made Forrest tap to strikes, IIRC.

Cro cop tapped because his orbital bone broke and ebersole tapped to injury as well against Lombard

Your interpretation of the English language is correct.

I remember when Rickson Gracie won a fight by RNC, and the opponent passed out because he didn't tap, so the announcer called it a KO.
