Hey, I am in the market for a pair of fight shorts and am trying to decide what brand I should go with. There have been lots of helpful reviews of SPRAWL and Nogi shorts lately, and I was just wondering if anyone could give a review of Tapout or Inspirit shorts. The Tapout website (checkout the retailer sticky in this forum) in particular is really confusing, as you can choose between board shorts and long shorts, without any real difference that I could notice. Which should I go with for grappling/mma training? Are they any good? Any info on either of these two brands would be much appreciated. Thanks!
uh? theres been on review of american no gi so... yeah hehe. as for tapout, I have heard of cheap stitching on them, so I've never gone there. personally, I recommend clinchgear.com, sprawl.tv, howardliu.com, or txmma.com Inspirit is hard to review, cause not alot of people have them, bar Shooto Panama, who might review them if we beg him enough lol. good luck ~FOz
Clinchgear's Grappling Shorts are only thirty bucks now. Are they worth it and how much is the shipping.
Yea, I kind of figured, but we have a lot of members here, some of whom are in Japan, so I was hoping. We'll see...
Who has expressed desperation that Sprawl will expand and export to Japan. Just get Sprawl, man. They rock.
radioactive - http://www.sherdog.net/forums/showthread.php?t=280530 (My detailed review of clinch gear's shorts. very good shorts) Review of TruthMMA is delayed until I can get the camera working and get the right shots I need for the splendid review. ~Foz
Thanks for the Clinch short review Fozzy. You mention in the review, that you have not gotten any of the Inspirit shorts to review yet. Will you be getting any soon?
Tapout shorts in the ealy years weren't all that great. The ones made in the last few years are a lot better. Two of the fighters I sponsor (Charles McCarthy and Seph Smith) love them. I like the HCK the best personaly although the my own brand of shorts will have a smilular closure that the Tapouts have. www.SSFgear.com
I had an order with Katsu at JBD (Inspirit Dealer of US) and they said my shit was getting in on like the 19th of July, and then I never heard from them and my emails are ignored. So I'm waiting for any confirmation, and then I'll see about getting a pair, though their largest size may not be big enough for me ( a HW ) I'll let you know if I get some though for sure. Thank you for the kind words. ~Foz
It's strange, I hear a lot of good things about sprawl shorts, but the two pairs I have both have large rips in them already and I haven't put them through and extensive grappling. I've actually been wearing them for stand up training. I have tried to contact sprawl about the issue but have not heard back from them. Has anyone else had experiences like this?
No. I have had nothing but the best customer service eva. Steve over at SPRAWL is one of the best guys in the MMA market I have ever done business with. Sounds like you need to talk to him.
I have been trying to get a pair of the Tapout long shorts for almost a month now, just ask SSF  There customer service is so-so as far as I have experienced. I get the impression that they really don't care all that much. They know there name is big so why bother? I could be wrong but that is the impression that I get. If they keep being slack on business then they can forget about my business. Ill keep yall posted how things go.
Adino-I'm getting tired of waiting for them also. I really like their shorts (board and vale tudo) but it's junk like this that makes me love HCK. I'm sorry that Tapout has been such a pain in the ass about this but it does seem that they just aren't moving in getting the smaller sizes back in stock. www.SSFgear.com
perfy-you are right. I think the long shorts are useless(for kicking), I don't have them on my site for that reason. www.SSFgear.com
