This thread is about Tank being the face of boxing. He's beaten more rated contenders and titleholders than Benavidez has. That's a fact.Lets try again. Who is tanks best win again.

Nobodies? LSC was a multi-division champion and a former P4Per though he came up from the lighter weights. Barrios was a WBA secondary champ and contender at Junior Welterweight. Tank's fought in 3 different divisions and beat more rated contenders and titlists. I'm not saying his resume is great, it's not, but Benavidez's is even worse. Tank's style isn't all that exciting but people tune in to see his finishes. You are arguing semantics. Even if its slightly betters its not relevant to being a cash cow, he's fought nobodies other than Garcia and is only top 5 in his division atm. He is also not an exciting fighter he just sits and waits for openings, while Benavidez is an action fighter, plus is marketable with how he speaks and looks and his mexican roots. You cannot be the face of boxing if you are not marketable.
But Benavidez is known in Europe? I doubt it. Certain parts in certain countries perhaps. Tank is now on course to be the face of boxing. That's what this thread is about. Whether he ever gets there or not we'll see. As far as I'm concerned Canelo still is.Honestly I havev known Benavidez for quite some time as I enjoy his style of fighting but Tank not really. He has power but his fight style and opponent selection seems to be focused on minimising risk. Not that its a bad thing but doesnt really make him that well known in the big picture. In Europe Tank is not really known.

I said that Tank was on course to be the face of boxing. That's the direction in which his team is trying to guide him. If Benavidez gets the Canelo fight and beats him, especially if he's dominant, then I'd probably agree that would go a long way toward him becoming the face instead.Oh wow!!! lol you just made my point.
This argument started when I said if Benavidez gets a fight with Canelo and beats him, not right now. Benavidez will tick far more boxes than that midget. The hype for tank being the face is manufactured. I don't even believe those ppv numbers until its official because its obvious both parties have an interest in exaggerating for clout.

They've been looking to build Tank for the last several years at least in the US. It's just been a slow burn. This win over Garcia has elevated his profile. No doubt. Here is this month's issue of The Ring Magazine.Actually yes I do think that. It is imo because Benavidez is seen as a very exciting fighter with the talent to make him a superstar. Tank not really. But others should weigh in. I am ok with people seeing it different. Maybe Tank is the face of boxing in the US, I don't know. We will see how that plays out in the next 5 years.
