International Taliban Ban All Afghan Women From Higher Education, Parks, Gyms, Working for NGO's.

You don't think the US is at least partly responsible for the current state of Afghanistan given the 20 year occupation and trillion's spent on state building there?

Afghanistan did great under US management. Have you seen its GDP growth since 2001?
Also worth noting that GDP continued falling steadily for a decade after the soviet war in Afghanistan. When the US stepped in, Afghanistan was in a very, very poor state after a decade of self-governance.

Final post: I wonder what the percentage of NGO workers in Afghanistan are women. Seems like a much more catastrophic decision than banning women from education.

I can’t find any data but I get the sense that at least NGO workers, at least the western ones are disproportionately women.
That went well.

I don't know where to start till I wake up.

My SIL and her family fled the Taliban and are now proud American Citizens. Her mom was showing pictures of how amazing Afghanistan and Iran was before the Muslim extremists took over. That is the issue with Islam...it is very easily corrupted by men in power and bastardized to fit their agendas. She has many female relatives with acid burns, poorly healed broken bones from beatings and scars everywhere.

Or we could have just completely destroyed the Taliban and finished the war.

We had the ability to complete the war in probably about 5-6 years. Unfortunately, the purpose of the war was not to defeat the taliban, but to keep the war going for as long as possible in order to funnel money to the weapons industry.

Afghanistan was just an excuse, not a conflict where the actual goal was victory. How is it we pull out of a war and our weapons budget goes up over 150 billion dollars?

Afghanistan was a grift. So much money we send to our weapons companies goes right back into the coffers of both political parties. They've sold us all out on the cheap.

I hope this post resonates. We've simply moved on to Ukraine.

Sounds like the US was really successful dealing with the Taliban all those years.

There'd be lots of dead Afghani women. Make no mistake. Fleeing would be viewed as apostasy.

yup, and where exactly would they go? neighboring Pakistan? Iran? Turkmekistan?

would any nation grant asylum to uneducated, illiterate women in masse?

just all around a terrible situation.

All of the western world would happily grant them asylum. The optics would be phenomenal. They just couldn't make it out of Islamland.

Sure they would, they would make for cheap brides.

this exchange is hilarious, because the woman here is so full of crap.

Begs a few questions -

Is "a lot of rights" the same as equal rights? I don't care about women's rights, gay rights or to differentiate who gets what rights. Equal rights not based on inherent identity is the only "right" I care about.

Wonder if she's still so proud of all the women's rights in Iran considering what's been going on there? I'll venture she's reconsidered her position.

If the protect people that attack you.

This is what you stated in regards to someone asking you how you could justify completely destroying a country and killing millions of innocent people.

I'm just curious, how far does your logic extend?

Should a murderer on the run decide to hide underneath the house of someone in your or your family's neighborhood, do you think it would be a good idea just to bomb the entire neighborhood and call your family necessary collateral damage?
