News Taila Santos Released by UFC; Mayra Bueno Silva Temporarily Removed from UFC Roster

...and Joanne "Calder" Wood is back in the top 15. <Lmaoo>
That's really bad. I feel like, once the rankers couldn't pick Santos, they just defaulted to a name that's been in the rankings before

Even just Rose losing to Chook** would put her higher than Joanne, imo.
Jasudavicius would have been a good pick, since she's only lost to #10 Cortez and #13 Silva, but has beaten Maverick.

**brain fart- that was Fiorot, not Chook

Wasn’t MBS just signed to fight for the Vacant Women’s 135lb title? I’m so confused rn.
MBS Timeline:
-Destroys Holly Holm
-Pops for ADHD medicine
-Gets a 135lb Vacant Title fight scheduled
-Gets removed from roster

If she really got removed for popping for ADHD medicine, then I’m glad USADA is gone soon. Thanks USADA for “cleaning up the sport” lolol

Mod edit:

- Talia Santos contract is up and therefore was released by UFC. See twitter news link above^

- Bueno Silva will most likely be back in the roster on Nov. 29 after her suspension, like what happened to Bobby Green when he got removed from the roster a couple of months ago coz he had to serve his suspension.

Thanks for sharing my man.

Thanks for the mod edits.

I think sherdog in general (certainly myself included) needs to revisit the definitions or releasing, not resigning, cutting, and whatever USADAR still has to do with this.

What the fuck. Taila was easily one of the best girls in the division despite her recent setbacks; easily Top 5, maybe Top 3. I'm hoping we see her back like when there was "news" of Chook departing... damn.

Not sure what to make of MBS. I know she popped, but if that was the case and a limiting factor then why book her for a title fight?

Don't understand releasing Santos at all. She nearly upset Shevchenko and gave Blanchfield a tough fight.
What's not to get? Her contract is up and there's a good chance she wanted more money than what UFC was willing to pay her. Weve seen plenty like her in this scenario

Highly doubt she was asking for Ngannou type money.

This is WMMA. They are paid peanuts to begin with.

Taila has left, MBS hasn't.

No idea why they released Taila, I remember her corner had some visa issues but that seems like a silly reason.

PFL should be all over here if she's available.
Kayla Harrison could use the W, book it.

Seriously tho, they only have womens 145lbs division for 2023, or as sacrificial lamb to Harrison as "former UFC title challenger"....2-3 divisions below her.

Taila is a beast, I had her beating Valentina on points when they fought. Wonder what she's doing with that free agency

Good. Talis santos is atrocious to watch.

Who cares, fold 135 womens division asap

They'll have 125 next year. They've got Dakota Ditcheva in PFL Europe who they'll want to move across

U Fight Cheap is the reason.
