When I watch this I think "Something is better than nothing." Then hope the people are just training for exercise. You know it would not be so bad if they showed the techinque then did some type of full speed resistant training to get an idea how hard it is to really get those moves.

That other move where they twist the arms of the guy and step under I actually saw full speed at a judo academy a month ago but with a resisting partner. I don't know the japanese words for the move but they did it. If the opponent resists that initial "cross over" they do it again and throw a hip throw into it for the ippon.

Regrettably I don't do judo because I train bjj but someday hope to.

this is why it cracks me up when TKD guys say that "Real Tae Kwon Do has grappling too"

It ought to. I've never once seen anyone, here or elsewhere, who has trained TKD and who also actually knows what in the hell they're talking about that has made such a ludicrous claim.

Proper TKD training does include a healthy dose of Hapkido-- throws, escapes from grabs, standing submissions, that kinda thing. I can't see the vid right now (I'm running BSD UNIX on this laptop, and Epiphany browser doesn't have he plugin) but I'd guess that whoever posted the vid just didn't know what the hell he was talking about...posted a vid of his wife/kid doing Hapkido and thought "throwing = judo." The title of the vid just makes zero sense.

Wow............. Damn the first two were Judo throws done very shitty. I have no clue what the fuck is going on with those last two. How can he sleep at night even teaching those last two to people? That is ridiculous.

i no one guy like that , we used 2 train in a kinda jkd system that had ok grappling. we both since left and he went to do tkd and i went 2 proper vale tudo and he claims that his tkd system is deadly and they learnt how to handle grapplers etc. so i invite him to the gym and we roll and i fuck him up for 3 or 4 rounds on the ground , and he is able to conclude 'maybe tkd grappling isnt that good'. tkd - the teacher of wisdom
