Tactical barbell quick review.

Also, what ar15s do you have? I ah e a few Daniel defense, a few bravo co and a colt.

The better question is what do I get to T&E. Shoot them, break them, then turn it back in for another. Today I'm rocking the new polymer lower by Robar

Haven't read it yet, but it is on the list once I work off my current pile of books.
From what I've seen it features solid routines and hasn't got any negative reviews so far.

Out of curiosity, what's your line of work?

I'm a recently early retired police officer and now I am an adjunct firearms, subject control and PT instructor at police and security academies.

Sounds like a neat job. Mind if I ask about your opinion/viewpont on knife defense training for law enforcement? I've been getting into it through the Funker Tactical channel on YT and it would be interesting to know how it is handled on the practical level.

Here is me and the setup I retired with although the tasers are finally being replaced by black ones. You'll see a large TDI KaBar tanto knife behind sticking out right above it so that pretty much summarizes my view of cops with knives. I mounted the knife there so I can grab it during gun takeaway defense. Some guys like the handle facing the other way so they they can grab it off hand which is fine too.

The problem with knives is a perception issue with skittish administrations. I would a third of the departments would not allow my set up and some wouldn't allow that knife even concealed. You can shoot someone but don't stab them because that's barbaric. Conversly don't shoot someone stabbing you because it's only a knife....

Off topic but congrats on retirement. I've been trying to become a cop for a while now and its incredibly difficult. Upwards of 120 people apply for one position. Anyone with military or minority status passes you by on the eligibility list. Its tough.

On topic, I'm pretty sure you can find any barbell program online and call it "tactical." "Tactical" is a catch word for preppers and gun nuts.

I knew a bomb squad cop and he carried like 3 knives and 3 guns with him. He was sort of plain clothes though, not a patrolman.

Yeah, isn't that some bullshit.

Congrats on retirement.

I'm a chicago police officer currently. They frown on knives overall , but allow small Swiss types. Most guys though carry bigger folders in their weak side pockets. As a last resort measure

Police officered pretty much the worst job you could have in this age of liberalism.

Pizza delivery drivers

I had that job before.....I got pAid a lot of$$$ do drive around, smoke pot and get. Low jobs from local groupies who were too stupid to
Realize that pizza drivers are lame.

But sea that's all true. I. Is there at job. Now that I'm really working in the "real world".."

I made the mistake of getting a Bachelors in Criminal Justice without researching the politics behind getting a police job. I work in corrections now making as much as I would on the street without getting shot but advancement opportunities aren't as plentiful.

Lovin' the pink cuffs man. Too funny. Is there a reason for that (i.e. training cuffs vs street gear?)

On topic: The TB template I've been using delivers for me. Here's more reviews on the book overall:

Never said I enjoyed being Cpd lol. But it's a job. Even if my own city hates us.

I wanted to be polite officer, I was accept\ted into the academy and did all the fitness tests, polygraphs (lol at those) and everything else, was assigned a start date for the academy.....then I bailed.

Best decision I ever made as Id prefer not to go on trial or to jail for having the gull to do my job/protect the public and my life....

I'll address several comments:

I took 30 civil service tests to get my last job but the departments that pay well and treat their guys well are hard to get on. However there is a national shortage of qualified candidates so if you're willing to move the jobs are there in way we haven't seen in a generation.

I carry the pink cuffs as my own little rebellion, as a calling card and most importantly as a great tool to get people to approach and meet me. I have a pretty bad birch face and b the pink really helped to overcome that.

It's still a great time to be a cop because 90% of policing is in the burbs and not in high crime areas where you're incredibly more likely to get jackpotted. I loved my job and miss it deadly. My retirement wasn't a choice.

I also have a B.S. In CJ that I can wipe my ass with. A two year degree with the academy included is a much better option.

I did the academy and an Associate's. I was told by a professor that "you can't get a job in Wisconsin without a 4 year degree"

I wonder why a professor would say that.
