It was only a matter of time before they become the same thing. Now that Tablets have upgraded CPU, with Ivy Bridge i5, Intel HD 4000,

Tablets + Attachable keyboards = Touch screen Ultrabook + Detachable keyboards

There is very little difference now

Looking forward to the new Microsoft Surface Pro coming in January

I have an Ultrabook -so I can run CAD, Protools, Light Room, Premiere, etc....

Stuff you can't do well or elegantly on a tablet -and a few things that don't run as well on MAC (like CAD -especially colaborative server stufff)

But I get the advantage of a huge hard drive, solid state drive, 12 hr battery life etc etc

for me Ultra Book is a game changer.

isn't the only tablet with i5 and intel hd4000, is the surface pro for $900 or w/e.

at that price i'd rather get a laptop/ultrabook with touchscreen.

Got this two weeks ago. :D

Yup. It'll leave iPads and Android tablets in its dust.

Wonder if any of the pro tablets will come with proper support for external GPUs.
If they do I might go that way instead of another 13 inch laptop when it's time to upgrade.

Wacom might in their professional line -but they are gigantic for carrying.

Still a market for tablets. More portable, take up less space, all that jazz.

ultrabooks>>>>>>>>>>>>>tablets

ultrabooks are for everything that a PC can do, including real work and real gaming. Tablets are for fucking around online and playing crap games.

I also don't see the point of a chromebook. for a tiny bit more, get a full laptop and have a hard drive. why not?

The whole point of this thread is that they are the same thing now.

Tablets have keyboards and have ultrabook specs so you can do real PC things

Ultra books have detachable keyboards and touchscreen so you can use it like a tablet

but why do you use LR4??

Please don't put that in print anymore

-I use Photoshop more -it just happens I have a new copy of Lightroom and have been playing with it -I shoot a lot of stills on my SLR.

Yea I just realized I kinda came off condescending. My apologies.
