Tablets = Ultrabooks

No problemo. it was supposed to be in jest but after i read it outloud i was like yeaaaaa i sound dickish lol.

how do u like LR4 anyway? I have CS5 but do all my photo editing in LR4.

I've just messed with the recovery tools and photo book part so far.
I shot alot of snow in Alaska last week so i messed with the recovery tools.

I mainly got LR4 to experiment with possible colaborative workflows (editing is done without changing native essence).

If I shoot in Jpeg, honestly I'll use Elements over Cs for quick stuff -It is so streamlined.

I've greats good things about elements. I shoot only in raw and I have the stance of doing as minimal of editing as possible so i use Lightroom

I've heard the video editing LR has is good but I've yet to see anyone use it effectively

I haven't messed with the Video Editing aside from cuts only etc to trim raw stuff.

Elements isn't as good for Raw

What kind of stuff do you shoot?

absolutely untrue

my Vaio runs an i7 with an SSD and it's the quickest thing going.. not to mention the full functionality of an ultrabook

i mean you actually don't need a touchscreen for anything, tablets are convenient because they're high powered relatively and very portable.. they're not laptops and they won't be.. not at least for a very long time

im starting to get into fashion shoots, portraitures, and studio shoots. actually in talks with interning with a fellow NY photographer and have an interview with a child portrait studio on Monday (Kiddie Kandids. I'll take what I can get).

Other than that my photography tends to be of people. its scattered all over the place to be honest but im trying to find my niche.

isn't the only tablet with i5 and intel hd4000, is the surface pro for $900 or w/e.

at that price i'd rather get a laptop/ultrabook with touchscreen.
It'll come down to $500 inside of 6 months. And it still won't be worth that. You watch.

Theres also Samsung, Sony VAIO Duo, and Lenovo twist and Lenovo Yoga all with Ivy Bridge i5 specs, as strong as ultrabooks.

But its just the beginning. Next year, ultrabooks and tablets are going to be the same thing

Kids photos are an amazing business -especially if you like little cute kids.

Portratures to me would be very interesting -everyone would have a backstory -shooting portraits for a mag would be really cool -I think of Glenn E. Friedman as a great example of how cool that could be.

Fashion photography may have fringe benefits:P

well i go to NY's Fashion Institute of Technology. so for me to shoot fashion is pretty damn simple lol.

and Annie Liebovitz is my portrait inspiration.

Im gonna call you a big shot photographer from FITNYC on here one day!:D

Lol I wish. im not studying photography. Went the safe route and am going for Advertising and Marketing. for my Associates and My bachelors in International Trade and Marketing for the fashion industry.

tho I have sold some photos so thats always a plus in my book.

The whole point of this thread is that they are the same thing now.

Tablets have keyboards and have ultrabook specs so you can do real PC things

Ultra books have detachable keyboards and touchscreen so you can use it like a tablet

the whole point is that a tablet with a keyboard attachment is absolutely not the same thing as a laptop/ultrabook. It is a weak entertainment device, not a machine to do real gaming or work on.

And no, ultrabooks do not have "detachable keyboards and touchscreen".

But I guess if all you do is surf the web and play angry birds, they are in fact the same thing.

They have the exact same specs. There is absolutely no difference between a tablet and ultrabook if you a keyboard.

Surface Pro is an ultrabook with a detachable keyboard and touchscreen, or its a tablet with an attachable keyboard. They are the same thing
