Sean is arguably the most underrated fighter on this forum.

I dunno, he seems to be well rated around here. He just is favored by the UFC, it's pretty blatant. He is not a bad fighter but I do not think he is as good as the UFC seems to wish he was

While I think Cory needs a win, Sean is coming off two losses against Merab. His recent fight with Yadong shouldnt earn him a fight with Yan even though he might get it. A lot of people thought he lost.

Cory also lost to Merab, but who else has he not fought yet? Zahabi is the only other one remotely close in ranking that Cory hasn't fought already. He has already fought Merab, Umar, Yadong, Figgy, Bautista and the division really drops off after that.

This is the kind of fight that would have already happened in the Joe Silva days, but the current matchmakers are avoiding the fight for whatever reason. My assumption is they are trying to preserve Seans star power because they know Cory is more towards the end of his career and if Sean gets the title again its good for business.

I think Cory beats his ass and is better everywhere apart from 1 punch KO power.

Martinez & Oliveria are not a drop in compitition. He got a win off of freak injury on Figgy it wasnt a full fight. Him and Mario fought over 6 years ago when Mario was an mma baby not some contender he is now it's a completely fresh fight.

Surprised how many think Cory would win this fight, it's a toss up in my eyes. Great style clash. It's #3 and #4, also 2 guys who are out of title shot picture. I'd settle for Yan rematch or Umar fight. Think Sean shouldn't get one more unless Yan really wants it. Sean has a bunch of good fights, I was disappointed Song was the choice.

Cory is great fighter, but he can't beat the elite of the division. Some people thought he should have got the TJ fight but none the less all of his losses in the UFC have came against Champions(except Umar, who has solid chance by the end of his career).

I'd like to see him against Sean. Both are in the perfect position to fight each other, although I don't think Sean wants this fight. He is so use to being the taller lankier guy and I think Cory has a more well rounded stand up game.

omalley easy. omalleys just the better striker and a much better athlete. the speed and power disparity alone would be disgusting and omalley is better defensively. cory is always getting cracked and thats bad news when youre facing the most powerful and accurate guy in the division who always finds his opponents chins. omalley would just grind cory down with body work, jab him up, and chin him with good straight punches. corys wrestling would certainly disrupt omalleys game but cory is not on the level where he can just beat O'Malley because of his wrestling. like lets be real guys even if theyre on a very similar level as far as striking goes (which i dont agree with) omalley is much faster, much more powerful, and much more accurate than sandhagen. his shots will just end up mattering more when they land which means omalley has a better chance of winning rounds
