More division in Europe. Greece is a problem again too. We need to stop believing this fraudulent coalition called the EU can work.

Horst Seehofer, leader of the CSU, a key party in Mrs Merkel's coalition, has grown increasingly angry at her position on immigration.

Last week he threatened to turn asylum seekers away from Germany's borders unless Mrs Merkel reached an acceptable deal with other EU partners.

His stance put Mrs Merkel's coalition and her political future in question.

She said Greece and Spain had agreed to take back migrants stopped at the Bavarian-Austrian border who are proven to have entered their countries first - a move she hoped would allay Mr Seehofer's concerns.

But the divisions within the German government over the issue are also being played out in other EU countries, and this was reflected in the vague wording of Friday's deal.

Switzerland says no to relocation of migrants from Italy and Greece

Switzerland has rejected a second asylum seeker relocation programme proposed by the European Union to relieve the burden on frontier countries like Italy and Greece.

According to the SonntagsBlick paper, a spokesperson from the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) has confirmed that currently Switzerland has no plans to renew its commitment to accept asylum seekers from southern European countries. The Alpine nation had participated in the first such relocation programme in 2015, pledging to take in 1,500 asylum seekers from Italy and Greece. So far, 902 asylum seekers from Italy and 579 from Greece have been admitted under the first relocation programme.

The EU had launched a second relocation programme last autumn and in a letter from EU Migration Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos, Switzerland was also asked to accommodate as many people as possible. The request was rejected.

They should just get the hint that nobody fucking wants them, and send them back. Or let them all stay at Merkel's or Tusk's house.

You break it, you buy it. I support Islam and am glad that liberals realized they don't want any of that and tried to pass it onto others. Nope. I want Islam to build a strong base in Europe. And comes ripping out of its chest and kills it like a scene from Alien. The seeds of the strong have been planted in the womb of the weak.

@Bacco Is Italy truly flooded with North Africans or are we getting a super exaggerated version of the events here?

Egypt refuses EU call for migrant reception centers

Egypt and four other countries have said they will refuse to host migrants aiming for the European Union. The "reception centers" are part a broader plan to more evenly distribute asylum seekers in Europe.

"EU reception facilities for migrants in Egypt would violate the laws and constitution of our country," Egyptian Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal, to Germany's Welt am Sonntagnewspaper.

What did you just say?

This guy puts it better.

“The Yuga Cycle doctrine tells us that we are now living in the Kali Yuga; the age of darkness, when moral virtue and mental capabilities reach their lowest point in the cycle. The Indian epic The Mahabharata describes the Kali Yuga as the period when the “World Soul” is Black in hue; only one quarter of virtue remains, which slowly dwindles to zero at the end of the Kali Yuga. “

“For the past 2,700 years we have been evolving through the ascending Kali Yuga, and this Yuga is coming to an end in 2025. The end of the Yuga will inevitably be followed by cataclysmic earth changes and civilization collapses, as is characteristic of the transitional periods. The Dwapara Yuga is fundamentally different from the Kali in its spiritual and material dimensions, as can be gleaned from the ancient texts. Hence, we may anticipate far-reaching changes in our environment, and possibly in our cosmic neighborhood, as we transition to this period of enhanced consciousness. The current upswing in tectonic activities and the increased incidence of extreme weather phenomena may be indicative of the fact that we are slowly entering into a period of volatile earth changes. We need to be aware of these greater cycles of time that govern human civilization, and the changes that are looming in the horizon.”

Good for the Swiss. I like their policies almost as much as I like their cheese.

Italy’s new populist interior minister says French President Emmanuel Macron should take migrants into his home.

Matteo Salvini reacted to Macron’s assertion Tuesday in Rome, where the French leader met with Pope Francis, that there isn’t any migration crisis.

Salvini says, if that’s the case, “Macron should open the doors of his own home to the 9,000 migrants France was committed to taking from Italy” under European Union accords.

By refusing to allow private rescue boats to dock in Italy, Salvini is challenging EU partners to take more migrants.

Salvini said: “It’s too easy to take a photo with the pope without respecting the accords and driving back women and children at the borders.” Salvini referred to France’s refusal to let migrants cross the border from Italy.

He adds: “French arrogance is no longer fashionable in Italy.”
