Swimming and MMA Training

Swimming is great! Our coach makes us go once per week, and we have to swim about a mile each time. We are at the OTC, so there are often olympic medalists right next to us. I would say wrestlers as a whole are worse at swimming than any other athlete besides lifters. It is very humbling watching Phelps easily swim 4 laps before most of us can swim one. The workout is mostly middle of the road for me as far as aerobic/anaerobic, and we are all very sore the next day, mostly because we arent very efficient. If you have a free 45 minutes, it is one of the best pound for pound full body workouts to get your muscles and lungs blown out
