Social Sweden. Update: Came in Ferrari - applied for social benefits

This is exactly correct. A Ugandan is not a Swede. A Turk is not a German. The Turks children are not German. They are Turks living in Germany. Magical soil does not exist.

23 and me will tell anyone what they are. Not citizenship.

So if you're born and live your entire life in a nation, you still don't get to claim that nationality, if say, your parents happen to be from a different country? Where does that leave most Americans then?

America is a migrant nation. No other nation has had that ethos since its inception.

You come here and become an American. And people used to. Now people decided to stay whatever they were before, and it’s tearing the nation apart

I dont think I can agree with this. What does it mean to "become American"? I think the cool thing is all the different "americans" there have always been. I can go to my Korean American friends and have some kimchi. I can go to some Cambodian Americans house and eat with my hands. I can go to my black Americans friends and eat some chicken. I can go to some white Americans and eat some cheeseburgers. You know what I mean? I think its always been like that.

People dont just move and suddenly they are something different. Something different happens after a few generations. So I guess I dont understand what you mean.

I know plenty of second or 3rd generation immigrants that "are integrated"

Former President Teddy Roosevelt describes what it means to become American quite well.

Teddy Roosevelt said:
In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American … There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all.

Teddy Roosevelt said:
We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile. We have room for but one language here and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, and American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding house; and we have room for but one soul [sic] loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American people

this post does not make any sense.

Hey guys, which is more effective when trying to destroy a country?

(A) Nukes

(B) Immigration

(C) Multiculturalism

(D) B & C

You didn’t answer the question. If you are born and spend your entire life in a nation, would you rightfully be considered that nationality?

To be a Swede is an ethnicity. A German is an ethnicity. To be French is an ethnicity. To be Italian is an ethnicity. To be Scottish is an ethnicity. To be russian is an ethnicity. To he Japanese is an ethnicity.

American is not an ethnicity.

So we all get to make up what it means to be American in our own little way then, right? We dont have to live by someones ideal. We all get to live peacefully without hurting each other, or telling each other how we need to be.

Edit: I'm off topic as usual. I'll see myself out.

Sure.
I’m a way yes, I’m a way no. America is a set of ideals I think. A way of life as well. A political system too. There is a lot about being American. But race religion or ethnicity doesn’t matter in what American is.

German et al are ethnicities as well as nationalities. The nationality of anyone who has lived their entire life in a country, regardless of ethnicity, is the nationality of said country. A third-generation Yugoslavian, who has lived in Germany their entire life, is German.

Also, your classification completely ignores countries like Brazil, Canada, South African, etc. There is no such thing as someone who is ethnically Brazilian. There are only Brazilian nationals. Same as the U.S.

Not to mention most people in the world, Europe included, are of mixed blood. But I digress.

So many muslim migrants have kids in the new host country yet raise them as if they were still living in their old muslim country. Many kids grow up barely mixing with the non-muslim section of the population.

Really depends on the place of origin. I know plenty of 1st generation immigrants who are completely integrated, me amongst them, and plenty 2nd gen who aren't. The deciding factor seems to be if there's a large community from their former homelands in the new country making assimilation less of a necessity. North East Calgary is a prime example of a parallel society where people can live their lives, do business and generally have no need to learn the language or interact with greater Canadian society. It was the same with Italians and Chinese.

You can't even blame them as it's only human nature byo congregate amongst those like them, but that's why too many too soon is a bad immigration policy. Unless, you know, you are ok with cultural changes.

Pick just about any culture from around the world and they can find an enclave in Toronto.
