Surreal Moment: My old classmate is a murderer

the boars are an invasive species and needed to be hunted for population control, not that I've ever killed one.

I will say the are mighty tasty though. :P

Oh, I don't doubt that they are tasty.

Invasive species might be a justification, depending upon how the species affects its new environment; however, "invasive species" could be arbitrary. Population control is arbitrary.

They flatten forests and eat a lot, not to mention they are dnagerous to humans and pets.

How does one become a murder?

Edit - Boooo TS got title fixed.

You become a murderer by not killing anyone then later on in life killing someone. I know you were trying to be a smartass, but anything someone IS, they had to become it.

By hunting small animals as a juvenile and eventually working your way up to the biggest fish of all.

No, that is how one becomes a murderer not a murder, the person you replied to was being sarcastic because of the typo TS made.

They are all around bad for the environment. It's more than destroying forests, its disrupting entire ecosystems, killing local flora and fauna, and causing side-effects like erosion.

Same for the wild cattle that are in some parts of Hawaii.

Girl I once dated went to HS with this guy Gary Hirte

WEYAUWEGA, Wis. -- Gary Hirte, a high school scholar, star athlete and Eagle Scout whose name seemed to be in the local paper all the time, is accused of committing murder--not for money or revenge, but just to see if he could get away with it.

The Weyauwega-Fremont High senior's arrest last month was met with shock and disbelief in this town of 1,800, where Hirte has long been held in high esteem. The 18-year-old was accused of killing 37-year-old Glenn Kopitske.

"He wanted to see if he could do this. It was like a challenge for him," sheriff's Capt. Steve Verwiel said. "I would attribute it to arrogance."

Defense attorney Gerald Boyle said Hirte claims he was not involved in the murder. Boyle said Hirte will plead not guilty at his arraignment Thursday.

Authorities said Hirte told friends about the crime, but none took him seriously. Finally, five months after the slaying, a girl he once dated went to police because she feared he would commit suicide out of remorse.

Hirte apparently sought out and stalked Kopitske, a substitute teacher who ran unsuccessfully for state Assembly in 2000, authorities said.

Kopitske was found dead Aug. 2 in his house outside Weyauwega. He had been shot in the head, stabbed twice in the back and once in the heart.

The arrest has shaken this community about 90 miles north of Madison.

Hirte was the city's first Eagle Scout in 20 years. He was an honor student and a 6-foot-4, 270-pound member of the track, wrestling and football teams, and has a steady 14-year-old girlfriend. Readers of the town's weekly paper knew all about his achievements.

here's my ultimate wtf crime story. my next door neighbor shoots her boyfriend in my backyard (one bullet hits my house). all the police show up and get them both. the guy doesnt even press charges so theyre back next door in a couple days. well a week passes and i hear her yelling and then see her collapse in her drive way. people in the neighborhood are coming out and seeing what the deal is. the bf is on the front porch yelling at her, saying shes faking. we all look over at her and she is covered in shit! haha, they get arrested. next day in the paper it says that she wouldnt let him use the bathroom, so he shits on the floor, beats her, and then drags her through it!. when i find the news article i'll post it here. you all gotta see what this bitch looks like. i thought it was a tranny

heres her mugshot

im going to keep digging until hopefully i can find an article on it. it was funny reading it.

Hirte testified that afterward he returned to his car and fell asleep. When he awoke, he was sober and enraged about having had sex with another man. Hirte said he felt "just grossed out beyond belief, disappointed ... [at] the proof of my imperfection that I had done these things." He said he believed a homosexual act was "not as bad as raping or torturing someone" but was worse than murder.

Wut?

Who cares if they eat a lot? It's a matter of how the affect the new environment, specifically how they damage/destroy/etc. it. So, if they "flatten forests," it would constitute harming the new environment. Danger is a weak argument.

As weich puts it:

So yeah, they suck.

I've said this on here before but my dad grew up with Mark David Chapman.

A guy I vaguely knew in high school ended up killing at least one person. I didn't know him really well, he transferred to our school in the last year. He seemed like an odd kind of guy, he was really into outdoor survival. I believe he is actually in the Guinness record book for being the only person to complete some kind of solo kayaking trip.

The only thing that really made him stand out in my memories from high school is that at the end of the year he threw a huge party for everyone on the beach and bought booze for 150 people that he barely knew.

I guess after high school he got involved in drug dealing and built himself up in a nice little empire. Apparently at one point he was living in a penthouse apartment downtown, dating a super hot chick and was basically living the fast life.

I don't know the whole story of what happened but I guess maybe during some drug deal gone bad he ended up stabbing at least one person, maybe two. The only reason I heard about it was because another guy I went to high school with was a cop and he told me the story.

One of my old classmates just murdered someone.

Well in school I always found him kind of odd.

He was a chronic pot head, didn't do his school work, bullied smaller kids and overall he was the definition of a hooligan.

He never really seemed to bad and the bullying was mainly taunting, nothing overly physical.

He always wore camo jackets and pants, he liked to hunt pigs and go fishing from my brief conversations with him. We were not exactly good friends or anything.

Glad it wasn't you. Although the odds of getting murdered on any of the islands has to be astronomical. When was the last homicide you recall?

last one that comes to mind on my island I think was two years ago, definitely nothing of note recently.

I think oahu murder rate is a lot more common, but still very low.
