Sup?

You are all weak, I am the best. I bench pressed 1 quadriplion universe units of force the other day. Next to my 2 whales squat. I curl 2 grown humans, each in one hand. Rookie numbers

If what you were saying was the case then we would have people hitting triple bodyweight deadlifts and squatting 2-2.5x their bodyweight on the daily in gyms. Instead those numbers are the barrier to being a serious lifter for everything but HW plus lifter.

You will see double bodyweight deadlifts and 1.5x Bodyweight squats in most non Globo gyms daily though. You are between those 2 levels.

I think you might be slightly disappointed about the numbers you hit in that comp at the end of the year. No shame in that at all, but you aren't going to progress as rapidly as you think AND perform to that level in a competition with the technique changes.
Just saw this. I definitely squat 2.5x bodyweight and I definitely deadlift 2.5x bw. So no im not in between anything. Neither of those numbers are impressive for a strength athlete. It isn't even a drop in the bucket.

I said that you were already around there. That's why i said things will slow down.

You already have followed a good enough program to get to those levels. From here you aren't going to be adding 25lbs cycle to your lifts, it's going to be fighting tooth and nail for every 5-10lbs.

That's before we go from gym lifts to lifts that will pass at a PL meet.

I dont think you realize how fast you can add to your lifts by bulking relatively quickly over a year. I am 187 pounds on a good day right now.

That is the plan man.

As someone who also doesn't focus on #s for a good part of the year, I think you may be surprised at how long climbing back to peak #s or hitting PRs becomes as you get older. Our obstacles are probably different as time is my biggest limiting factor, but it gets harder and harder every year. If you have mainly been doing oly lifts and not doing the big 3 much, I think you'd be surprised if you actually went to total the big 3 right now in the same day. The road back is longer and longer with each passing year.

Maybe but I’ve been out of the gym for months at a time due to injuries and hurricanes and basically went down to square one. It didn’t take very long to get back it is muscle memory.

I guess I peak a lot more than you. I'm lighter than normal, but I haven't even touched 90% of my best lifts since I'm doing other shit too. Honestly, it'd probably be some work to even hit the 90% numbers and quite a bit of dedication/time to get to 95% of it. It'd take pure focus to meet or beat those #s. From my experience with other lifters, it is fairly similar unless they are at novice/lower intermediate numbers.

Yea less trained people go backwards quicker but also gain it back quicker.

If you are between 1200-1300 now at 187ish lbs, I'll be impressed if you total 1450+ and remain in the 198 class. I think a lot of people overestimate and forget they need to actually execute all 3 lifts on the same day.

I’m not going to total 1450+ my optimistic goal is 1400.
