Summery in March (SCO v 31)

has anyone seen the goalpost?

Not the job of a prosecutor to exonerate someone.

Bad choice of words on my part. It was his job to decide to pursue obstruction charges or not. Deciding not to pursue it freed Trump from prosecution. Not exonerating, because Mueller's report said hes was not exonerated and Barr can't change that, but letting the matter slide.

Stop projecting these jerk off fantasies to Barr's conclusion and how you hope everyone is taking it. Pretty much everyone here has said that successfully prosecuting Trump for obstruction would be a stretch. Hell, I said that in the very post you responded to.

If you want to celebrate Barr's decision for partisan reasons, knock yourself out. But you don't know the contents of the Mueller report any more than anyone else. So if you want to strut around and shit all over the chessboard, be my guest.

touchy, touchy, aren't we? <Varys01><Varys01><Varys01>

Excuse you.... <LordRoose>

No spin here. What's wrong with transparency, if Trump is innocent of obstruction and Barr isn't going to pursue it? Simple question.

Because Trunp is furious and petty. He isn't going to give you or people like you what you want unless he absolutely has to. Which seems fair since you've all been smearing and slandering him for 3 years straight.

Well my issue is that you and the others are just hanging onto hope that Barr is wrong (he's not)...

You keep insisting that there is a right and wrong regarding Barr's decision to not pursue obstruction. It was a choice, his choice. He didn't challenge Mueller's finding that Trump was not exonerated of obstruction. He merely said he won't use what is in the report to pursue charges against Trump. You can agree or disagree, but at least get the basic facts right.

has anyone seen the goalpost?
lol...before we look for goal posts, let's find out what Mueller actually said, not a Trump lackey's view on it.

Dems just laid down the gauntlet, show the report by April 2, after, subpoenas fly. All committee chairs signed the letter. Tick tock.

massive claims of executive privilege incoming lol.

Cheers.

He should pardon everyone but Cohen

and even thats iffy, I saw an interview from someone that knew Cohen and he said they were going to jail his wife if he didn't cooperate

Wrong. An accusation is not proof. I can say you drive a van offering kids candy to jump in your van. But that is not proof
No, but if someone made the claim you said I drive a van trying to entice kids with candy then their claim would be factual ... Yours may or may not be.

what is your malfunction. How about his wife shouldn't have aided and abetted his lifelong pursuit of criminal scumbag activity? How bout dat?

You should knock on your parents door and tell them all about the sick burns you're dealing out on Sherdog.
they're coming hard and fast. I've been trying to be nice to Glen. I've been quite harsh in the past.

If the report exonerates him, like he claims, this makes no sense. If he was petty and the report says what Barr thinks it says he would be gloating and spreading it out there as fast as possible.

The pesky fact also remains that Mueller did not exonerate him of obstruction of justice and apparently had evidence on both sides of the argument. And it's very noteworthy that the summary also states that Mueller basically handed off investigations for others to pursue.

It's much more likely that there are things in this report that are still damaging to Trump politically, even if not legally (and maybe legally too). And like the loathsome snake that he is McConnell is doing Trump's bidding.

not what I said but source that

Barr's own words:

"The Special Counsel therefore did not draw a conclusion — one way or the other — as to whether the examined conduct constituted obstruction. Instead, for each of the relevant actions investigated, the report sets out evidence on both sides of the question and leaves unresolved what the Special Counsel views as "difficult issues" of law and fact concerning whether the President's actions and intent could be viewed as obstruction. The Special Counsel states that "while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him."

the fact a reasonable person (you) has to frame it like this for someone to understand is disheartening.

Makes perfect sense. You want the report made public, right?

If the actual prosecutor said it was bullshit. It would just mean a lie was told then reported.

It's still a lie

all arguments aside, he'd have to pardon everyone, being vindictive to one guy wouldn't do anything for him and would negate the point of pardoning the others.

Trump is calling for the full report to be released.
