Jones’ biggest arsenal used to be his takedowns. Now he relies mostly on his reach advantage.

He wants to move up to HW and claim he will be the GOAT.

He couldn’t take down Thiago Santos and barely won a decision. Stylistically there’s fighters at HW he can beat. And some that I can’t see him beat considering he doesn’t have the KO power to.

With all that being said, Jones would get outclassed on the feet by Stefan Struve. If I were Dana and wanted to expose Jones, this is the fight to make happen to test Jones if he is truly capable of competing in the HW division.

Had you said Volkov it would've been a more convincing argument. But Struve? The reason he's been on the receiving end of knockout highlight reels of many shorter fighters is because he can't use his reach well.

Come on man!

ban TS for being stupid

Struve wins this fight. Post-USADA Jones isn’t impressive. His past fights prove he’s been using his reach. Try using that reach against someone with a longer reach. Struve has been knocked out by heavy hitters. Jones is not a heavy hitter.

Jones does not have KO power like those guys especially a monster like Mark Hunt.

Struve's really tall which is something he hasn't dealt with. But he's also quite slow. Jones takes him down, gets side control and beats him up on the ground.

Struve did knock Stipe out. And he's really dangerous with submissions off his back. But Jones gets it done.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Struve get cut, 1-4 in his last 5 outings and being soundly finished by Tuivasa and a 40 year old Ben Rothwell is not a good look. At only 32, he's already had 9 serious tko/ko losses unless you're an anomaly like Overeem, that is hard to come back from. He doesn't have the technical proficiency in striking to avoid big shots or use his reach and he doesn't seem to be improving in any facet of the game.

Agreed. Also the Struve that beat Stipe was the best Struve we've ever seen. Seems like it was a flash in the pan, though. Jones takes Struve down and dominates him once he finds his range, which will be quick.

Don’t like Jones but I always used Struve as example that Jones isn’t just good cause of his long arms.

Stylistically, Stefan Struve beats nobody. He's never been able to use his reach in any effective manner at all. He's slow, uncoordinated, no fight IQ, and a generally horrible striker. And now he's way past his "prime". Jones does whatever he wants to him.
