That's an A level athletes money for ya.

According to Kathleen Pender of the San Francisco Chronicle, wealth management company Personal Capital has compiled data on how much the average NBA player spends per month. Per Pender, "more than 50" players used the financial management tool, with the subjects ranging from rookies to veterans.

The findings? A typical NBA player spends about $42,500 per month (or $510,000 a year).

Study also shows something like 50% of NBA players go bankrupt or financially struggles within 5 years of retirement.

I spend more than that avoiding getting Plat status.

Well in the UFCs defense Dana spends a lot of money per month.

I'm guessing they weren't Economics majors in college.

They'll be asking for Russian citizenship and taking photos in Crimea within a decade because they're broke and desperate for some support.

You'd think since most of them are from a University (and top ones at that) that they'd be forced to at least take a financial management classes prior to their entry into the nba.

The main reason they go broke, besides idiocy, is family and friends think they all made it. They keep asking for money and all of the sudden they get long lost cousins that wanna hang out.
Athletes have got to learn to say no

They get passed anyways. At least that is the case in the SEC. Few are actually bright. Those few are the ones you keeping hearing about years after they retire.

allen iverson was saved by the rainy day clause in his deal with reebok if i am not mistaken.

he busted his money on himself and rolling with a entourage of like 40 people.

reebok put a clause in his contract saying you can only access this much for now, and x value he cant touch till he is 55. so he has that to fall back on. since filing for bankruptcy dont know if that ammount will be available to cover current debts and come the age of 55 it will be less.

most of the schools lower their standards for the players to get in. and they have zero interest in whether the kid learns. their job is to give the players the easiest schedule possible while still keeping them eligible to play

They recreate the scene with the ear on the ground? No wait, the "where's my bourbon" scene? No wait, it's the "in dreams you're mine" scene?
