Strongest MMA fighters ever?

Although I think Hunts success there is really more that he has much better technique, tug of war is all about brancing against your opponents pull using your bodyweight until he tires then going on the attack.

In terms of raw strength I would guess Sapp(at least back in 2002 when he was at his biggest) might have Pudz beat but worlds strongest man is more about functional strength in many areas, some of the events also don't tend to favour taller men(which makes the Mountains success all the more impressive).

Yea, supposedly Tank could bench press 600 pounds.

I don't know how much this is but here is an example of Tank's strength.

That is not a bench press lol

Also bench press strength is not correlated to grappling strength.

Kinda depends how you define strength.

Pudz can obviously lift more than Tim but Sylvia manhandled him when Pudz gassed in minutes.

A better wrestler like Cormier would send Pudz flying if they clinched.

Combining strength and technique to fully apply the strength I think Lesnar is a good answer. Prime Coleman seemed incredibly strong as well.

In terms of functional in-cage/ring strength, Cro Cop was considered exceptionally strong by Coleman and Barnett (IIRC), and would be a good sleeper pick here.

Wouldn't win a strongman contest obviously.

Shane Carwin was pretty freaking strong. Remember him having his was with Brock till he gassed. Sheer strength and power, he has to be up there

Yeah, he may be up there. I was surprised how well JDS handled his strength and TD attempts, though. JDS was a beast before his last 2 fights with Cain.

Coleman was 40+ and telegraphed his TDs from about 15 feet away, though. Cro-Cop didn't seem as strong in the UFC. Gonzaga caught his leg kick and took him down with ease. Kongo muscled him around as well.

The OP asked about who is strongest. Tank was strong as fuck by all accounts.

Who would you rate as the strongest MMA fighter in any organisation?
Strenght is somethin´very relative...

An ant can be comparatively stronger than a much bigger animal...

Fighters like Paulo Filho were pretty strong, comparatively stronger than some dudes quoted here

Pudz we know would be grapplefucked by Brock and many others. Cage strength is probably Brock although ubereem was quite a force.

Are we all forgetting that Sage ripped an apple in half with his bare hands?
<{Heymansnicker}>

Khabib seems pretty strong given his size / physique wouldn’t imply it.

You didn't watch the fight. Pudz was able to drag Sylvia down with brute strength and no semblance of technique, which was absolutely amazing to me. Yes he gassed and Sylvia won but goddamn... that dude is strong. We once saw Monson, another crazy strong guy, struggle to get Sylvia down more than once or twice for five rounds.

Lesnar said that Cole Konrad was the strongest man he ever wrestle with.

When Lesnar says you are a strong mofo, I kinda believe him.

Cole wasn't ripped, but he was strong as hell.

Some of the strongest dudes walking around aren't ripped. And some ripped guys who look really powerful aren't as strong as one would think. Carwin was one who had to be really powerful. Never saw how much typically would lift or press. Tank as many have said was exceptionally strong.
