Notes
- Continuing my reset, lowering the top set a tad, and reducing the subsequent sets more than I had done before, so they are more spread out. Being lighter, I got through them pretty fast, and therefore got teh pump. Good times.
- Death lifts were fine. Concentrated on getting it off the floor more quickly. Didn't feel super motivated for the AMRAP, so I only did 7 (was required to do 3). Definitely had 2-3 more left in the tank.
- Doing GHRs, I felt a little weird at the back of one of my knees. Got through the first set. Second set, it was becoming a stronger sense of discomfort, between the calf and the back of the knee. So I stopped. It was stiff after, and now as I walk and that part stretches, there is some pain. It feels like a minor pull/sprain, but I am glad I stopped when I did.
- Obviously, the big news is that I once again achieved a massive personal milestone, by getting a rep PR on bicep curls. I feel that next week, I may be able to go for a new 8RM- 41kg or 42kg is clearly possible. If I believe. If I only believe.

You jest, but I think that is actually quite a bit of weight to curl 3x9. Apparently you are a powerhouse with a curl bar. Congrats. :)

I have found the one lift that I am good at... and it is the most important one! So now let's see how long it takes me to do 100lbs (46kg) for 3x10.

No, they are barbell bicep curls.

You want me to do bicep curls with an 80kg barbell? I may have to do several cycles of Smolov 100% Awesomeness, and possibly several cycles of steroids, first.

(Note that I have not ruled this out. Because I think MIDMO would want me to do it.)

Is it the EZ bar curl or olympic barbell curls?

Im so going to wait until all the guys have left the gym next time im at work, lock the door, and try a new max IN the squat rack! I will also video it! :P

Olympic barbell. Rip says that the EZ curl bar prevents your biceps from engaging fully.

Good idea of the curl PR video in the squat rack. I may do the same :)

Let's just say that tonight I am busting out my three-sizes too small t-shirt with really short sleeves. I have the pump on.

Although the sizing sound right, Why the hell do you have sleeves in your T-Shirts. The only purpose of sleeves is to hide the gunzors and make it less obvious you are not a world class athlete. I will provide examples at this time maxium coverage for T-shirts for people who curl in the range you do

(sadly if you put the term sleeve and girl in most search engines you get this)

this is a more accurate example or a proper T shirt

On the left (improper T-shirt, proper Saying)
on the right (proper T-shirt, improper saying)

Just proper

and heres a difficult example of both right and wrong. The T has sleeves but they're see-through and I'm still deciding where I stand on see through sleeves but I'm leaning towards not accepatable for men

DELTED possible nipple, possible mole showing
(her name was Kia Drayton and she is beautiful)

to make up for Kia being deleted

also exhaustive research with safe search off shows that there is no mole in that general area. She was December 2006 featured Playmate

Thanks for the guidance, MIDMO. I will be sure to walk around in a ripper Hooters t-shirt, from now on, in order to display the Gunzors.

Today i did Jaunty Curls, went down a size in uniform shirt and now its CANNONS TO THE LEFT OF THEM, CANNONS TO THE RIGHT OF THEM, CANNONS IN FRONT OF THEM, THUNDER AND LIGHTNING!

Showtime! All i have to do now is wait and see if any chicks stop by the firestation to rent lifejackets.

3 sets of 50kg x5! Nice... Don't think I could quite manage that. Although now you've motivated me.

BTW... CNN reporting that there was a world class Gun Show in Northern Norway today. Wouldn't know anything about that, would you?

Conditioning Day (Sort Of)

So, I bought some light gloves and got someone to help me to raise the height of our new heavy(ish) bag, enabling me to do some heavy bag work. Let's say like this:

Heavy bag work: 5 x 3/4 minute rounds, 1 minute rest between rounds.

They were meant to be all 3 minute rounds, but it seems that I got carried away maybe twice. I can't remember *exactly* what I did, but basically I went through a progression like this:

Round One. Just basic technique, working through the main punches in 10s (jabs, straights, hooks at head height and body height), switching stance so I could do them on both sides.
Round Two. Working up some combinations, like jab-jab ten times, then jab-jab-straight ten times, then jab-jab-straight-hook ten times (both sides)
Round Three. Keeping going with the combinations, working up a little longer and adding a kick at the end. Some sort of ugly hybrid of a karate roundhouse and a Thai-style round kick (contact with the shin). Not pretty. Or indeed effective. Many times my contact wasn't solid.
Round Four Like round three, but a slightly longer combination before the kick. And sometimes trying to continue the combination after the kick. Which didn't go well, I can assure you.
Round Five Just hitting the bag any way I want. Longer, more fluid combinations with different rhythms, much more total punches and kicks.

Throughout, I tried to stay mobile, bob and weave, keep my hands up, and my chin down. The last two parts I can do, but I never learned boxing footwork so when I hit the bag I instead use footwork and movement that I have adapted from dance classes. Yes, really. I used to take a lot of those, and while I was doing them I had a heavy bag at my house. One leaked into the other. So even when I was more practised, it would have looked pretty bizarre to someone who knew what they were doing. I don't really care, though, because I am not fighting anyone or training a fighting art. The movement makes it better exercise and more interesting.

I am very rusty, and when rusty I am pretty shitty, but it was still a lot of fun. I was only really exerting myself by the last round (when I had some sweat on and was a little out of breath). If I did a few more rounds like the last one, it would be a very good workout indeed.

I can see myself doing this semi-regularly. Which is good, as it has been really hard to motivate myself to do any type of conditioning work.

Well, i have not heard about such a show, i have searched around the web, news papers and CNN no luck. Im also on the job today, and we are informed about any event involving high risk enviroments like fireworks etc. But no info, got any more info on this?
