It took me a while to notice that that girl is holding a football...

Thanks!

Deeply disappointing. But at least you've been finding some.

I've had no luck. I've looked on the websites of a couple of modelling agencies in Dublin, and on the Miss Ireland website... but the pictures aren't exactly what we are looking for in the logs.

well there not hot but

Yes... I see what you mean. My log needs a bit of a pick-me-up. Ooh, I know... some pictures of Andrea Corr:

Not too revealing, but she'd beautiful and she's definitely Irish (proper Irish too, as in 'born in the Republic of Ireland'). And she definitely helps to remove the memory of the 'Irish Yoga' girls.

Conditioning

Warmup: Sun Salutation Ax5, Triangle, Inverted Triangle
C2 Rower: 5000m, 27m 41s
Dip/Chin supersets: x6, x6
Barbell Complexes: 2mins on/2mins rest, x3
Lateral planks: 1 minute each side.

As mentioned, I have been trying to get the right technique for the rower (extend legs fully, then lean back and do the row, then come back and straighten arms, then contract legs... rather than combining the arm and leg motions). It requires more technique/concentration and for some reason is much harder. I was really beat after this. So beat, I couldn't find any motivaton to do more than a few dips and chins.

Tried barbell complexes for the first time ever. Two minutes each with two minutes rest, three times. I was really surprised how taxing it was to do them. I was more or less okay by the end of each rest period, but the second half of each one was tough. And I not do them fast... I was obviously flagging. Will definitely do more of these- they kicked my ass.

FInished with lateral planks (the plank, but with your body at right angles to the ground and your weight on one eblow). Actually a bit harder than regular planks as I haven't practiced them for ages. Need to put these into rotation too.

Tired afterwards, even though I didn't do that much.

I've done 3x3 handstand pressup negatives today as well. I really need to do way more of these if I am going to get anywhere with them.

What is barbell complexes? I imagine oly type lifts?

No, they're a conditioning exercise.

As I do them, you just take a bar, and you just randomly pick barbell exercises that you can do, doing 10 reps of each, fastish, then moving to the next one. And you do them for time, e.g. do them for 2 minutes, 3 minutes, whatever. So today, my first two minutes, I think I did 10 front squats, then 10 OHPs, then 10 hang cleans, then 10 bicep curls... then something else, I can't remember. That was 2 minutes. Then a rest, then I did another 2 minutes... 10 deadlifts, 10 Bent Over Rows, 10 back squats, 10 overhead presses, etc. Because it's a conditioning exercise, you're not trying to lift heavy weight, you're trying to go at a fastish pace without stopping, doing something that is reasonably hard.

Once it gets easy, you can go for longer, take shorter rests or start adding more weight. But it should never get heavy- it's conditioning and muscular endurance, not strength.

I didn't do them for long, and they really tired me out. I was super-lame.

You would think this pic has nothing to do with St Patrick's day. But in fact the jeans she's wearing are Lucky Brand whose logo includes a shamrock

ok maybe their not Lucky's but anyone who gets inside those pants would be....

Kabul, Week Two, Workout One (Awesomeness Week)

Going to keep this short and sweet as I wrote this out in detail and then Firefox crashed.

Squats 94kg: x5, x5, x5
Overhead Press 49kg: x5, x5, x5
Power Clean 67kg: x3, x3, x3, x3, x3
Weighted Dips +7kg: x5, x5, x5
Ab Purgatory Upto 8 the first time, upto 6 te second

Notes:
- Leant forward a bit on some squat reps, didn't push knees out enough
- Struggled with some power clean reps until I got annoyed with myself and the bar. You need to be determined and committed to do power cleans

Here's a picture of me, winning, by using my ankle/wrist weights to load the bar to exactly 94kg.

Perceptive people will deduce that I used these weights for all the exercises except abs today. I love these things.
