Strategies to revive the UFC

Build new stars if the money makers , Conor and Jon Jones , don't want to fight...

The UFC isn't some hot new thing where the name is selling itself...
you cant just build stars though, they need to be there

there will always be someone, there always is, just a lull in the action, someone will come along, they always do(i forget who said this, but it was someone famous in boxing)

The app is terrible. The UFC should pursue other avenues like Amazon or Netflix.
Idk, I think they need to re-examine the entire model.

Either go membership or stay PPV.

Putting a pay wall in front of the 'privilege' of ordering a PPV is just fucking stupid.

"You'll have to pay 12 bucks to spend 80 bucks on the event" ... some restarded shit.

Hot dog branders, corn nuts and those fire Reebok kits

Maybe do an AI gladiator themed intro movie, with the fighters looking like super hero’s and riding on horses

Replace Din Thomas with Mike Goldberg

Also get rid of the PPV model

Eliminate dehydration weigh ins.

Create a PPV tier Top 10 fighters only.
You must defend your ranking and at the end of the year You get re ranked based on a formula. Make 9-10 fight 11 & 12 for their spot in the UFC level or get relegated to the Contender level.

Contender league call it whatever you want. # 20-11 ranked fighters fight to reach the UFC. Fights over the year with a formula to see who rises to the top. Top ranked at the end of the year get a fight to join the "UFC" #11-12 fight #10-9 winners move up or keep their . Loser gets relegated or stays.

Now UFC PPVs are always moving towards winning a title. Contender Series moves fighters up to winning a spot in the big show and the fights matter.

They can fill cards on PPV with "Stars" that are out of the title picture and don't want to compete in the contender levels anymore.

First move-

Stop the bleeding.

The company has forgotten or abandoned EVERYTHING that made it great in the first place and become everything about combat sports (boxing mainly) that Dana used to passionately speak against.

The matchmaking SUCKS.

"We give fans the fights they want."

Not in 2025 they don't.

"The best fighters in the world fight 3x a year in UFC"

Not in 2025.

Gotta cut loose a bunch of tired ass old idiots.
Dana, Joe Rogan to start.
Both did amazing things to grow the UFC but...
both do a TERRIBLE job at this point.

Light the APEX on fire. That place sucks the life out of fights.

Fire half the roster.

Go back to pursuing the champs and best fighters from other orgs around the world. Fuck this DWTNCS farm system bullshit or at the very least make it so that is not the primary/only source of new fighters.

Stick a fucking fork in TUF.
Reality TV blows.
(Even if the format does still exist on streaming)

Pay up.

All this brand first bullshit is toxic and off-putting .
Promoter THE FIGHTERS.
And fucking pay them. Athletes that are the best in the world shouldn't be living in poverty and retiring broke.

None of this is rocket science.

Tournament style would be nice to mix things up. Maybe not all the time but make the pay incentive high enough to get serious interest....

Other orgs have figured it out.

It isn't gonna a fly as the main format but every once in a while it is a great way to spice it up.

Bellator did a HW GP a few years ago that got a lot of attention and probably the most media coverage Bellator had in the last several years they were up and running.

Glory is killing it with Grand Prix tournaments and doing one this weekend thanks for the reminder @BoxerMaurits

It should be the default maneuver for vacated belts. Doesn't have to be a year long 16 fighter tourney, a 4 fight GP works just fine, semi finals with 2 fights on one card, follow it up with the finale a few cards later.

Rework matchmaking and ranking system to a more point based system. Guys who refuse fights lose rank, guys who don't stay active lose rank to those who do. Make the system avoid rematches. No more rank squatters.

Cut WMMA

Have a bonus system for guys with 3-4 fights in a calendar year.

Another suggestion. Eliminate rankings entirely. All this does is make guys weary to accept fights due to fear of losing their number. It also makes fans tend to downplay fighters because of their number, making wins against them seem less meaningful thus having the appearance of weaker champions/contenders. You also get guys hanging around the top for way too long.

They need to do freak show fights like PRIDE did back in the day, only time they did it was with CM Punk and everyone knew he was going to suck shit anyway

Eddie Hall vs 2 UFC flyweights or some shit like that would be money, I don’t give a fuck what anyone says. UFC has lost legitimacy to the point the brass don’t even give a fuck about belts anymore, the veil is off time to do some freak show matchups and get this shit crackin.

- Fire the following people:
  • Dana White
  • Hunter Campbell
  • Sean Shelby
  • Mick Maynard
  • Joe Rogan
  • Daniel Cormier
  • Michael Bisping
  • Paul Felder
- Dissolve TKO Holdings

- Cut 60% of the roster

- Reduce PPV prices by 65%

- Have 2 events per month

- Allow all PEDs
They could stand to loosen the rules a bit, also.

But I agree with everything you listed

There's no saving it. It's been dying since the day it started

Not even the geniuses on sherdog could revive it

Also adding stuff like knees to downed opponents at the very least, there would be soooo much less stalling to survive by guys on the bottom.

Dana is always bitching and whining about grappling and stalling you’d think that bald fuck would be pushing like crazy for all strikes being legal to downed opponents, dude is straight dogshit as a promoter these days.

The general consensus seems to be that the UFC has fallen on hard times lately. We all know it... The UFC knows it... So what, in your opinion, would the UFC need to do to reverse course? Here are my suggestions:

- Leave ESPN

The app is terrible. The UFC should pursue other avenues like Amazon or Netflix.

- Limit WMMA

The UFC should start another league exclusively for WMMA. The ladies just dont enough talent to put 2-3 fights on every card.

- Better time management

UFC events are way too long. Trimming some of the excess fat would result in a better product.

Your suggestions?
Fire ring girls.
They get paid 2k-5k per event. And it’s the same few girls.

That’s a very unnecessary budget considering each even has 5-7 ring girls. That money can go into improving the product or at least raising fighter pay.

I’ve been watching boxing/kickboxing/mauythai/etc all my life and have never heard a ring girl name before.

Nobody should feel bad if they do get fired, these same girls are all millionaires now modelling and even getting invited on podcast as if they are MMA stars.
