Economy stonks v8, the wrath of icahn

today is so weird.

s&p barely moved and the semis got hammered. and a whole bunch of individual stocks on my watch list. no idea what caused so many to drop 4-9% in just a couple minutes (and some still pretty down) while the s&p's flat. maybe it's just random luck, but it looks weird.

Yeah should have kept my INTC short. Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Shorting Slack off Salesforce debuting competing app. Ouch lol

I'm sorry, I did ditch it. I realized 30%. Now I'm thinking about buying back in.
Has it been 30 days yet?
Dont play the same stock within 30 days under the "Wash Rule" unless youre willing to hold/deal with more complex gains/tax shit.

if he made a gain on it, it's less of an issue. it would only matter if he'd take a loss on the next play. but i have no idea on d&b, anyway.

Thanks for education. I googled the Wash Rule and it seems to only apply to losses. I gained on D and B. I'm also not worried about taxes as the money I'm playing with doesn't increase my income by a crazy amount.

i bought enphase @ 44ish while it was dropping at openish, expecting to have a quick flip.

oops? no idea why it's way out of its predictable movement, nothing seems to have happened. (figured it would be on its way to $46 by now)

right but if you lose the 2nd time around and want to exit, the rule will apply as far as I understand it. Thus why it might not be the play. There's not a ton special about that place and it has no outdoor component so id run away and do some sort of outdoor leisure/ent stock if you're that keen on a rebound.

man, today is really throwing me for a loop. so far, i would have done better if i stayed in bed.

ICCCCAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

Yeah it seems like the data and covid news is having less and less effect in both direction and as I've said for weeks we're see essentially flopping around a moving average of like 10% below all time highs, discounting like 5% for covid and 5% for fuckery/fear/imperfection/dilution.

i just recovered an astonishing amount in 5 minutes on this minor bump of the s&p. i'm starting to wonder if my rh wasn't showing data properly, because this math doesn't seem right.

edit: was probably all my leaps. either wide bid:ask or they just lagged updating the data.

i've noticed a lot of problems with the options books being way off lately - in all 3 brokers i use. not sure what's up with that.

and oddly, if i enter an order, it will generally update the books on every brokerage, correcting all of them at once. been happening for weeks (months?) but it seems to be getting worse.

dude. convert the gas/stocks to stonks.

and closed enphase at $45. weird. should probably hold til 46ish+ (in... 2 hours?), but this shit's being too weird

Nap time for me. I await your biggest winners and losers so I can do the opposite.

solo - down 5%, no idea why it went from ~$1 up to $2, anyway (my average was like 1.12 or something [bought more today] ). aside from running commercials, maybe. i only am in it because their calls are nice and pricey and mitigate much of my risk.

Sorry misunderstood you.
Back to MGM scenario, I want to see how this second wave shit settles. I told myself it should get down below start looking to get back in. That is what I would do if I was you on Dave and Busters, just keep an eye on it and jump in when you feel confortable. I have not looked at D&B so dont know its patterns.

Speaking of patterns APT if it make a hard, dive in the morning and then spends the rest of the day climbing back up, then jumps late. I got some time tomorrow in the AM, if it dives at the opening bell/Pre market, I might try to make a quick cash flip. Buy some and sell it the same day.
