Economy stonks v8, the wrath of icahn

dammit, i'm mad at myself for not seeing the blnk news yesterday (it was even on wsb, that i'm pretty active on), i would have played this on the way down and then moved to play both sides. instead, i'm playing both but after missing the YUGE drop it seems kinda pointless in comparison.

lolz though, at expecting a red day and hoping to make moves to load up on more amd... and instead, i'm on the other side, selling calls.

Oh wow totally missed that one.

My XERS one already haunting me.

LOL my TSLA short is down 2% because of course thats up in a down premarket on nothing.

lol they're invoking George Carlin on CNBC during a segment.
Carlin would literally rejoice at these people not existing.

I wanted to get in the EV market a couple months back. Debated between Workhorse and $SHLL. Played fundamentals, and went with the better funded company. For once lately making the sound fundamental play, paid off. Glad to see fundamental investing still matters.
I am sure I will see some time this week see a company take off after shit earnings.

by any chance, is anyone here ( @44nutman ? some of these are realm-adjacent to you, it seems) familiar with VERB, ENVI (envision solar), or FLUX (just IPO'd yesterday, i think)?

none have options, so i'm not sure i'd want to play with any.

was eyeing up envi as a better version of blnk before blnk's dump... but i'm wary of their price after ~100% run-up. but for some reason, they seem interesting. i'm not sure there's $ in charging stations, though

verb's like $1 but seems to have a ton of institutional backing

flux make rechargeable lithium batteries for forklifts or something dumb like that. no idea why everyone's nuts about rechargeable batteries. i know they may have come a long way since the garbage rechargeable AA batteries i bought 15 years ago that lasted 1/3 as long a regular duracell and couldn't hold a charge after a year... but still.

fwiw, i played blnk a lot last year in general buy at $2, sell above 2.50 tomorrow plays. no idea why it went to $15 or whatever suddenly the other month for no real reason, on a bad business model, with no money... but hey, everyone wants EV and related plays.

edit: EVSI, not envi

i was just about to post how apparently we're all morons for not longing tsla.

bad bad bad week. Ugh.

What are you losing on?
AVCO went up to 1.90 and I didn't let go. RGR and SWBI are down 7-10% this week. UAL and AAL sucked.

Still had a bit of Sorrento I cant fucking believe I didn't sell at $20.

I should just play in tech but everything looks overvalued to kingdom come

imo... rgr, swbi, and srne are crazy overvalued. so this may be even more in the eye of the beholder than usual.

<Fedor23>

with tech, i think it's generally split between high forward earnings... and just delusional hopes/dreams. it's why i try to stick to sectors/markets i'm familiar with, as far as tech goes.

that said, if i was an idiot that just bought memestock tech calls, i'd be up like 3000% this year. it's a good time for herds.

ok, it's another weird day/week... i'm making plays on uranium.

bad bad bad week. Ugh.

if it makes you feel any better, i'm now down 11% on micron.

and the ironic part is that it was just supposed to a quick flip for me. and almost was. twice. i'm probably stuck with this for a month or two now.

Well, since I discovered options about a month or so ago I’ve had an unreal run.
Some ups and some downs but the month has just been incredible to say the least. Not tooting my own horn, some of the plays I made were no brainers to my mind but they paid off big.

In a really good position, next week im going to begin a more conservative approach

I must have profited from like 6 calls on Tesla since the announcement. Hoping for more split announcements soon

What's your ballpark return and on how many total "moves"?
Good to be able to figure out sample size before trying to set expectations on future moves.

All calls, all of which were expensive, all of which I sold over +50%. About 5 total since the split announcement, maybe 6. I sold at least 2 over 100%. I sold a Tesla call this Morning at +173%

Right but what's your mark to market return on the summation of all trades? EG is your portfolio value as a whole higher in a way that reflects a pattern of successful trades worth your time for the risk and return?

yes. In a big, big way. I’ve definitely had bad trades and red days but overall my portfolio has multiplied a few times since about May.

Sorry been busy at work. Not heard of any of those. I play like 5 stocks in the EV or AE realm. Will take a look, get back to you prior to Monday. . Since I have been so busy at work, so have extra cash to play in the market, might give one of those a go.
. Last big play I had was $ZSAN(posted in this thread prior) which has been profitable, since I am up 87% and FDA approval does not happen until October. They have partnered up with 2 bigger Pharma companies(so cash is no longer an issue) and their micro needle tech will be a game changer. I think the end for them is too be gobbled up by someone bigger, but even if not gobbled up, the migraine drug and micro needle delivery system, they will be profitable. I am holding until at least the FDA approval.
That said I got burnt on buying more GE when I saw someone bought an assload of calls at 10, so I win some and lose some. Still am a believer in Culp(he is making all the right moves) and GE has always been my long play plus I get dividends. Even with all my shares only down 10% in GE and as we know, Stonks only go up.
